Short Property Description
EcoBeachFarm is situated between World Heritage rainforest, mountains and the Coral Sea with just a 20 min walk to the beach. 100 acres of mostly rainforest and areas of fruit trees planted and others in preparation for fruit tree planting.
The work is mostly land regeneration work in and near the rainforest, the orchards and around the buildings. Since 2001, it has been regenerated without the use of poisons of any kind. We are particular about inputs and the use of biodegradable products.
Babinda is the closest train and bus station.
The work is made up of mostly weeding, some nursery work and planting.
The working hours are 4 per day on average, but you can vary the hours to suit if you want to take a day or two off to make the 28 hours a week.
A camper-trailer is situated in the large farm shed with laundry, lounge, toilet, shower and kitchen.
More WWOOFers can stay if they have their own van for sleeping.
FOOD STORAGE & WATER:
There is a small fridge and food storage containers. There is plenty of spring water from the mountain all year round – it is pure and delicious.
Basic Vegan and Vegetarian Food.
Bedding and linen.
You will need a hat, water bottle, torch (flashlight), gloves, sunscreen, Eco shampoo. work clothes & shoes, mosquito and sandfly repellent and a sleeping bag or blanket maybe in winter if you feel the cold. Long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirt and long trousers and shorts. Quick-drying fabric is good.
Telstra reception is none or poor. Optus is excellent. Unfortunately, we can’t supply internet access.
