Short Property Description
We are a family owned 5,200 acre farm located in the beautiful Kerry Valley. Our farm land is very diverse, from alluvial plains on the banks of the Albert River to our own hidden valley with panoramic scenic vistas (which our region is famous for). We are conveniently located, with less than 10 minute drive from the township of Beaudesert. We are also just over an hours drive to Brisbane and the world famous tourist mecca; Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. The farm is home to Goshu Wagyu; an elite breeding and genetic supplier of Tajima cattle (Japanese Breed) for the domestic and international market. We also produce our own crops for supplementary cattle feed. On the farm we also have organic bee keeping and our own honey extraction and bottling plant for our honey products. Our nearby sister family farm is a thoroughbred race horse training and spelling facility. Hence unlike most farms where the focus is just one type of farming, we can offer you a truly diverse experience!
Full Property Description
Since purchasing the farm in 2013, we have been working to be more sustainable.
We’ve added rainwater tanks (an extra 200, 000 litres combined) and 6 solar PV systems (over 77, 000W). We often use electric golf carts around the homestead grounds and are expanding the vegetable gardens & fruit orchards for our own self-sufficiency.
Work includes basic gardening, planting, weeding, mowing (ride-on), whipper-snipping, hedging, egg collecting & general farm maintenance. Depending on your level of interest we also can provide experience with cattle work and or even bee keeping.
We have a reputation for offering a high standard of modern, clean, separate accommodation for our WWOOFers. Our WWOOFers accommodation has it’s own kitchen, dining, lounge room, outdoor covered entertaining area, male and female bathrooms, laundry & 4 bedrooms. (mix of 1 x single bed bedroom, 2 x bunk rooms (2 beds per room) and 1 x couples double bedroom)
We provide supermarket vouchers, so you get to completely choose and cook the food you like!!
Lots of cool after hour on farm activities – billiard table, ping pong, fishing & kayaking on our lagoons, hiking in our our valley with scenic views of the region, race down our 1/2 km concrete driveway on our drift trikes, take out our motorised go-karts or just relax and read a book at our gazebo on the lagoon.
