Short Property Description
Established for 44 years, ‘Korinderie Ridge’ is a co-operative community with a focus on sustainable living and bush regeneration. 200ha of elevated, mostly old growth, coastal bushland overlooking Bundjalung National Park and the Pacific Ocean, 1hr South of Byron Bay. Wildlife abounds, including a number of threatened and/or endangered species. All developments incl gardens, houses, dams and reticulated water supply have been carried out in an eco-friendly manner. Our small community lives in solar-powered, hand-made houses and is environmentally conscious and active. Growing fresh, organic food is important to us. Work includes gardening, weeding, planting, pruning, mulching, building & construction (if willing & able), stonework, timber work – whatever is happening! At this time we are also working on bushfire preparedness. Accom for 1-5 people in our community or BYO. Anyone with a smile is welcome. NSI. Can P/U from Woodburn, Lismore or Ballina.
Organic/Biological methods we use
Three large gardens on the community are organically managed. You may be asked to work with a range of community members in these gardens, or on bush regeneration projects.
We also expect you to join in on fortnightly community work days. These typically involve infrastructure projects such as roadworks, preparations for bushfire season, and construction and maintenance of community facilities.
