    Short Property Description

We are a suburban house, aspiring to be a Japanese in our thoughtfulness, Permaculture in our resourcefulness, and Fairyland because life can have flowers an enchantment if we bother to make it that way. Come and help us make the Retrosuburbia dream come true. We are  growing food, making soil, hosting a Zero-waste pop-up pantry for neighbours each week, and the occasional community dinner party.

Here is what we want more of, and maybe you can help:

More of a festival feel. Can you do lighting, paper flowers, garden flags?

More community dinners, more Japanese cuisine, grown in by us and our friends

Book design. I’m pioneering how to use Permaculture and Lean (Toyota way) to make our homes more creative, uncluttered, and shining.

    More fun with social media,

More costume making and video making

Re-start hosting Japanese tea ceremony, get some tatami, again.

We are a shared household of thoughtful, social introverts, and look for who enjoy exploring ideas and creating things that make life better.

My dream WWOOFer is self-directing & observant, full of curiosity, initiative, and playful. But surprise us. There are many ways to be wonderful.  Must be over 26 years old.

Your tasks depends on what you are good at and want to do.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

Permaculture, and Japanese culture, including Masanobu Fukuoka.  We are fans of Elaine Ingham soil web, Macrobiotic, and Weston Price Nutrition.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

As a permaculture designer, I believe we can create the beautiful world we want to live in. We exist in relation to each other, and good human relationships can transform us from average to beautiful. I am my best self when I’m hosting and traveling, and WWOOFers make my dreams come true. Every street in the world should have a WWOOF host. I’ve been a WWOOF traveller for 30 years, and a host for twenty.

WWOOFing keeps me young and sparky, as life keeps surprising me.  Every relationship, every stay I host or have turns me into a new and better person. It shares my hard-won skills with great people, so I don’t have to save the world by myself, and my impact can go on, without me.
