I live in the suburbs in the Hunter Valley. I’m going to do a Ag Science degree next year at University of New England (already accepted). I finished Y12 at Hunter Valley Grammar and received 1st in Agriculture there. – I’ve organised fundraisers with the school’s Leo Club for charities like Relay for Life and RuralAid – I’ve been a member of hockey and cricket clubs, representing the Hunter region in hockey – I’m a birdwatcher and have been a member of the Hunter Bird Observers Club for 7 years, entering more than 100 bird surveys into the national database – I’ve been a hockey umpire at regional and state championship level during the last 4 years
Why I joined WWOOF
I want to gain experience in farming to prepare me for my ag degree and for work I will potentially get in uni break. I chose WWOOF as I’m interested in more sustainable methods of farming and I see organic (or similar) farms as a part of this solution. I hope to gain better farm skills and an understanding of how organic farm production functions.
