Hello! I am a 20 year old from the United States who is taking a second gap year before returning home for university (where I will be studying philosophy and media studies). Last year, I spent 8 months in France as an au pair/ nanny for three kids while I studied French and explored Paris. I love to visit new places and meet new people, so I am excited to work and travel around Australia and see what your beautiful country has to offer.
Why I joined WWOOF
I first heard about WWOOF in high school when a family friend told me about her experiences WWOOFing in Australia as a young adult. When I was given the opportunity for a second gap year, I knew I wanted it to be in Australia, and I felt like WWOOF would give me a chance to see the country in a unique way- not just like a long “vacation.” As someone who grew up in a city, I have always been intrigued by other ways of life, so I hope that, through WWOOFing, I can learn more about some of these ways of life and learn new skills.
