Short Property Description

Our land is 59 acres in a beautiful part of the Huon Valley – Geeveston. Overall we are looking to create a landscape that is rich in biodiversity and can provide for us and our local community.
We have part of the land that needs restoring so lots of weed management (gorse and thistles) other parts have been restored and need maintenance small trees have been planted. We also have plans to build a greenhouse where our house is currently built.
The land has some forest, a lovely creek that boundaries the property and a friendly platypus that lives in the dam.
We have 6 cows, 6 sheep, 4 goats, turkey and chickens. We need help with the day-to-day tasks but also keen to get volunteers who want to take a project on and be immersed into it. We are open to creativity, we like to work hard but also have lots of fun as we go along.
We are in our learning journey so come along and join the ride

Why I became a WWOOF Host

Our travels took us around the world and to many Woofing/workaways, we were filled with inspiration and ideas. Now we have found a little spot for us in southern Tasmania. Its early days of our project and we have lots of ideas.
We believe that its important to share what we are doing with others and by having other people in the land it will add to the diversity.
We are always keen to learn and share knowledge with our volunteers. From our experience so far we have made life long friends and this is the best way to connect with people through working on the land together.
