Currently work in construction management and public transportation. Hold a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with focuses in Architecture and Construction Management and additional coursework in Biology and Graphic Design (but grew up wanting to be a veterinarian). Passion for gardening, nature, healthy food, and caring for the environment. Strong interest in permaculture and working with animals to build soil quality and a balanced ecosystem. I like learning about indigenous uses for native plants and hearing the stories that come along with them. I enjoy reading, canoeing, camping, fishing, and most other outdoor activities (especially on or near water). I Live in the city and bike or take public transportation most everywhere, but long for the country. One day I hope to travel down the Mississippi River in a boat house that I build myself and improve on my Spanish prior to retiring to Central/South America. I have a good sense of humor and am optimistic. I love dancing and change my hobbies with the seasons. My Spotify playlist bounces back and forth between classic rock and Latin American dance music. I am a hard worker and can be found most nights working in the vegetable garden until its too dark to see. I talk to animals. I talk to plants. I’m pretty good at talking to people.
Why I joined WWOOF
Interested in potential career change in the future to own and operate my own organic farm. Traveling to Australia February- March 2020 for a month to visit a friend and would like to spend some of my time WWOOFing if possible. Looking to WWOOF near Perth March 6th-8th. I would like to see more real-life examples of Permaculture at work, especially on a commercial farm. I’d like to understand more of the day to day activities of running and managing a farm that has a highly diverse set of crops and animals and learn more about the care of agricultural animals.
