    About Me

    Personal Bio

Hi, I am a youthful, middle-age woman, solo traveller, mother of one, grandmother of two. Placing greater priority on life experiences and personal growth than on a stable career progression, I have worked in a variety of roles including retail, farm hand, nursery hand, administration, assistant nursing, natural therapies, executive support, voluntary bush regeneration and, more recently, sales at a wholesale plant nursery. I have many passions and interests and Nature is central to all of them. My favourite leisure activities are bush walking, exploring trails and quiet country roads on my mountain bike, flat-water kayaking, gardening and meditation. I enjoy being around people and animals. I also enjoy/need time alone. Solitude in nature is my gold! I love working with plants, particularly growing food and medicinal plants, foraging wild foods, bush foods, and permaculture principles. I generally have a green thumb and I am looking to work with hosts who grow food so I can get my hands well and truly dirty while learning about organic/chemical-free food production. I enjoy physical outdoor work and I don’t mind working hard. I am strong, healthy and smoke/alcohol/drug-free but I’m not a purist. My dream has always been to travel around our beautiful country, work along the way, meet new people, learn new skills, experience a simpler life, care for Earth. It’s time to embrace my inner nomad again and start a new chapter. I am fairly self sufficient with my own car, tent and basic camping equipment. I prefer separate accommodation or a quiet place to camp, and access to a shower and toilet. My trusty bike and kayak will be travelling with me so an undercover place to park them would also be nice. I look forward to connecting with new people and new places! Reach out for a chat if you feel like I might be a good fit.

    Why I joined WWOOF

I joined WWOOF about 10 years ago while I was a full-time environmental science student in Lismore NSW. I volunteered with a couple of hosts, put in some solid work, learned about the hosts’ properties and way of life, created fond memories and met wonderful people that I have kept in contact with. I had a very positive experience with WWOOF and my restless spirit has been pushing me to live with greater freedom and adventure. Re-joining WWOOF was an obvious choice for me.
