Kate Walker

Personal Bio

We are currently travelling around Australia, we left our home in Darwin in May and have travelled down the centre and are currently living and working on Mt Buller.

Kate, originally from the UK, grew up in Perth. She has spent over 7 years living in London, and moved back to Australia about 4 years ago where she found her way to the Top End. Kate has spent much time travelling the world, she loves a good adventure and exploring new places. She has a passion for natural health and nutrition which lead her to study herbal medicine and naturopathy in London.

Kylie, who grew up in Utah moved to Portland to go to cooking school. She then moved to Alaska followed by Maui where she worked as a chef. This lead to a move to New Zealand and then Australia where she has worked in various hospitality roles and for the past 5 years as cabin crew for a charter airline.

We are both excited to start our WWOOFing journey together. We are very open minded, hard working, and keen to learn. We love meeting new people and hearing their stories and sharing stories of our own.

Why I joined WWOOF

Kate became a WWOOFer back in 2018 where she spent a month working at Buena Vista farm in Gerringong, NSW. She retired her WWOOFing boots early to head to Darwin for a great job role. We are both very keen to learn different farming styles, learn about growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables, and working with animals. Kate is very interested in growing and harvesting medicinal plants!
