Hiya! I’m Heather and when I’m in my home town of Melbourne I work as an Archive Officer part time. In my spare time I have been building my dream bicycle so I can start touring around Australia. I try to be out on my bike as much as possible, my favourite bike trail is the main Yarra trail. Apart from bike riding I love spending quality time with my Jack Russell Ozu, we love long walks along the Maribyrnong river to our favourite park The Pipemakers. We both also love to be out in our garden, either tending to the veggie patch or just relaxing in the sun with a good book.
Why I joined WWOOF
I’ve decided to take 7 months off from work to clear my head and ride my bicycle around Australia, I’ve been dreaming of doing this trip for a while and fortunately things just fell into place where I was able to do it. I’m planning to start on some touring in regional Victoria, then make my way up through the Victorian Alps and eventually up to QLD to visit some family. For the Summer I would love to be in Tassie the ride the length of the Island and then be back in Melbourne in Feb 2020 to do a self supported bike race called the Vic Divide 550 which runs from Melbourne to Albury in 5 days.
