    Short Property Description

Nestled between the stunning Lysterfield valley and the Dandenong Ranges National Park, Harvest Homestead is a 3 acre hobby farm on the outskirts of Melbourne city in the suburb of Upwey. Only 45 mins by car or train into Melbourne CBD, this urban farmstay grows organic produce with an abundance of farm animals including alpacas, sheep, chickens, ducks and rabbits.

The modern farm styled cottage is a separate accommodation to the host house and is completely private. Usually hosting guests through Airbnb, the cottage is luxuriously styled and furnished and consistently gains 5 star reviews. It is a place for those who love beautiful surroundings and industrial farmhouse chic.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

We are new hobby farmers aiming to provide all our meat and produce from our own land or swapping locally with friends. Farming methods used are mostly no-till, lasagne gardening style – lending many techniques from permaculture but not religiously. No chemical sprays are used, with preference for companion planting, crop rotation and poly-cultures. Soil fertility comes from extensive use of compost and animal manures – alpaca, chicken and rabbit.
