Short Property Description
A large property in the foothills of the Snowy mountains NSW, surrounded by trees and hills. A creek runs around part of the boundary which is cold but great swimming in summer or a bit of gold panning.
Transport to Tumbarumba or sightseeing outings can be arranged
We have a variety of animals like sheep, horses, dogs and chickens so an animal lover is a must.
We have a caravan for accommodation with bathroom facilities inside the house.
We are able to sign off on 2nd/3rd year visas
Full Property Description
We have 350 acres of land, this includes bushland and some grazing/hay paddocks.
These areas need work like fencing, weed control and cleaning up of rocks and trees after the bushfires. All this will be taught by Andrew.
We also have a very large vegetable patch which needs to be brought back to produce more and hopefully extend to markets. This work will involve things like turning compost, mowing and weeding, planting and maintaining vegetables.
We would also like to create a better flower garden to keep the weeds and grass at bay.
The outside of the house also needs work which will involve some basic handyman duties which can be taught quite easily.
During the week you will work with me in the garden for around 2 hours each day and possible evenings with Andrew. Of a weekend it may be required to work with Andrew for at least one of the days.
Would be great if you could work alone for some days as we both work off the farm.
Tumbarumba has some really nice bushland despite the fires, local waterways, dams and waterfalls. Fishing, cycling and swimming are some of the top things to do.
A bigger town, Tumut, can be accessed by bus for day trips or I am willing to take you if I am travelling that way.
The caravan can accommodate a couple or a single person with power accessed and a small kitchen for cooking etc.
The local area has a great Rail Trail and plenty of local history. https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/snowy-mountains/tumbarumba-area/activities
Tumbarumba can be accessed by the Country link bus (https://transportnsw.info/stop?q=10150349#/).

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We live on 350 acres at in the foothills of the snowy mountains, an area that was hit hard by the 2019/2020 bushfires. We have been blessed with lots of rain to aid the recovery but still so much work to get it back to the way it was.
We have a large vegetable garden which has been chemical-free for about 7 years now, however, this year has gotten away from us and needs to be brought back to life.
We also have many other jobs in aid to recover the farm. Also to help lift the load off my partner who also works off the farm.
