Short Property Description
We are a young family of 3 living in North West Tasmania about an hour from Cradle Mountain, 20 minutes from the township of Devonport. We have an organic farm, working with regenerative practices with 25 cattle, 6 sheep, 1 horse, 3 dogs, 1 cat, and lots of wallabies (not farmed). We need help with setting up our budding veggie patch, moving cattle, basic tractor work of slashing, and keyline tilling, setting up our water/irrigation, chipping thistles, clearing/stacking firewood, and various odd jobs like babysitting, landscaping, chainsawing, handywork and cooking. We have a semi-detached self-contained studio or bunk room in our recently completed off-grid humble home with all the mod cons you would expect from a new home. It would suit a solo traveler but would be ideal for a traveling working couple. We are new to wwoof, but happy to provide accom/meals and have a spare vehicle for exploring Tasmania’s epic attractions. We have an 18-month-old baby, and we both work part-time as a large animal farm veterinarian and local paramedic while trying to get the farm off the ground. We would love to share the gardening/farming knowledge we have garnered and learn from others, all while surrounding our family with people from various cultures and backgrounds. We’d really like to offer an enriching experience of learning languages, regen/permaculture practices, and sharing home-cooked meals. Look forward to hearing from you. Guy, Genevieve & Freddie.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
I heard about WWOOFing through friends over the years but I really became interested when I heard more about it through the ‘Futuresteading’ podcast. I think that it is a fantastic way to work together in society for a common good as land owners and volunteers to leave the earth a better place after we leave. I also recently completed a 3-day permaculture course on earthworks and water management with David Spicer and would like to pass on any knowledge I gleaned from the course.
