I’m 25. I was born in Maryborough/Badtjala Country. I’m currently based on the Gold Coast, working as a painter. I’ve been living a fairly nomadic lifestyle for a few years now. I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of the East Coast and would still love to head west but for now I feel it’s important for me to put some roots down, become self-sufficient and live off the land. But first I need to learn the skills necessary to make that possible.
I love being outside and I have a little bit of farm work experience. I like tea, reading, surfing and skateboarding. I live in a bus. Her name is Connie. I can be pretty reserved but I’m not exactly timid either. I just love being outside.
I don’t drink or smoke.
Why I joined WWOOF
I started doing a horticulture course online a few years back and just didn’t commit to it. I thought maybe it wasn’t the course for me but it turns out it’s just not my style of learning. I don’t enjoy sitting and staring at screens. That’s a big part of wanting to be outside in the elements. So now I’m doing a permaculture course at Crystal Waters on the Sunny Coast next month (AUG 2021). I hope that will get me started along this journey as I have very limited knowledge on the whole thing as yet. When telling a friend about the course they mentioned WWOOFing and I figured that this would be a fantastic way to exchange my labour for education.
