Short Property Description
.3 Acres of partly cleared Forest. Areas of fruit trees. vegetable & herbs grown in raised bath tubs, spa baths & other large containers.
Organic/Biological methods we use
I grow in self watering/wicking tubs/worm farms. I feed all my compost & weeds to the tubs to be processed by the worms who fertalise my plants. This is a very fertile area with a good rainfall, so most things grow well & fast. At present Wwoofers would be asked to help with weeding & preparing for winter seed sewing. Lots of outdoor work as the weather in Autumn is devine here. I’ll also be emptying out a few tubs to be shifted in other areas To be set up again. You will learn how to set up a wicking /worm farm tub from scratch.
As we live so close to the forest, we have many native animals visiting, including insects, spiders, snakes, goannas, bush turkeys, birds, butterflies & native bees. We live easily with all our visitors as V few harmful. Some o/seas Wwoofers are not used to spiders & insects & become scared. If you don’t like insects & spiders you may wish to stay in other areas. Most snakes hybernate as soon as the cool weather arrives. Our home is a work in progress, we are building it ourselves using materials we have recycled or found in unusual places. If you like mosaics, wall tiles, creative cement render, coloured bottles in walls, you will fit in well here . I am a creative Artist/Craft worker, I love to share my skills with anyone interested.
