I am a 25 year old man, originally from the Northern Rivers of NSW Australia. I’m a keen hiker and trail runner, and I’m passionate about nature and the outdoors.
Presently I live on a motel/farm, where I earn my keep by working in the gardens and maintaining the buildings (similar to a WWOOFing arrangement).
I’ve also WWOOFed twice before: in Scotland for three weeks, and in Ireland for two weeks. As such I have some experience working in gardens and on farms, though I’m not particularly knowledgeable about animals.
In addition to outdoors things, I play classical guitar and enjoy puzzles (jigsaw and paper).
At university I studied physics and chemistry, and I’m planning on starting a phd in environmental modelling later in the year. I’m particularly interested in regenerative agriculture.
Why I joined WWOOF
I love working outdoors, and find it very meditative (I imagine that might wear off after a while, but for now I love it).
WWOOFing for me is a chance to meet new people, learn new skills, and do work I enjoy. I have WWOOFed twice before, and I remember both occasions fondly.
