My name is Alice. I’m 25 years old and from Sweden. My work history is very diverse ranging from preforming as a farm hand on a crop and cattle/sheep farm (3 months experience), to waitress and cafe allrounder to teacher in both kindergarten and school. I have shown a high level of professionalism across all areas and the skills I have developed are adaptable to a range of industries.
Recently I’ve been located in Gerringong, south coast of NSW. I started volunteering here for a family with a big house project, made from only recycled or second hand material. I was helping out with building, painting, landscaping and gardening and taking care of the chocks. (2 month experience) After that I got a job asa farm hand at the neighbors dairy farm, where I’ve been until now milking cows and feeding calves. (3 months experience).
By now I’m an experienced farm hand that enjoys the hard work, I’m a reliable team member that welcomes any challenge. Anyhow I always loved traveling, meeting new people and cultures, seeing new places. That’s why I decided to travel, live and work in this beautiful country for a while. This is my second year here in Australia and so far I had a wonderful time.
I would describe myself as a calm, social and positive person with patience and an eye for detail. I’m physically fit, resilient and used to working outside in strenuous weather conditions.
Why I joined WWOOF
My true passion has always been with animals and nature. Being with and taking care of animals is what instantly reloads me with energy and makes me truly happy. Back in Sweden I will eventually start my education to become a vet nurse. Being outside in nature is also something that I always loved, wether it is an adventure, such as hiking, climbing, diving or sailing; or simply just working outside, I always loved it.
Anyway, right now things are not as they used to be for any of us with COVID-19. I’m still here in Australia trying to find a place to stay and a volunteer work anywhere in Lisborne and Far North Coast, NSW area. Until the 25 November I will travel up the coast with my friend.
My plan is to find a place to stay and do some WWOOFing again because that’s something I really enjoy, meeting new people – share stories, knowledge and work outside in nature. Contact me through my number or e-mail in the contact details. I will be able to come and help in the end of November after 25th with what ever you may need. The ideal time to stay for me would be about 3-4 weeks. 2 or 5 weeks is also okay! Hope to see you guys soon!
Cheers and love, Alice
