A couple of months ago I stayed with a friend on the farm of Esther and Andrew in Campania, a small village close to Hobart. Initially we wanted to stay for about a week and then go hiking to see a lot of places in Tasmania. We ended up spending about a month on the farm, because we didn’t want to leave this awesome place and people anymore. Besides a lovely accomodation in an old hut, a beautiful landscape and a quite easy access to Hobart, you will find an unbelivable lovely family on this farm. Esther and Andrew are lovely people, who know a lot about farming (especially permaculture), good vine and how to make wwoofing on their farm an unforgettable stay. After working for a couple of hours in the vineyard or garden we had a lot of time to discover the region around, go swiming or canoeing in the lake, playing with the kids, trying ourselves in traditional dances in Hobart or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. They have 4 lively children, each of them could keep you busy all day and their working hard on doing so. But it’s so much fun to stay with those 6 crazy, but gorgeous people!
I can just warmly recommend anybody to go to Tassie to see this beautiful state and above all to find the most memorable wwoofing experience there.
