Short Property Description
Our “farm” is 64 hectares. We purchased this property as a “downsize” from our career certified organic farm, which we had run for 47 years. On “Murramia” we have cattle, sheep, hens, a beehive and a garden for beauty and food. We have begun to develop a whole environment design to our new farm with the installation of a dam, associated overflow control drain/swale and a direct seeded treebelt of native species. Our animalls came with us from our previously certified organic farm. We were able to get “Murramia” as a certified organic farm but have decided to dis-continue maintaining certification. We do still continue only using organic practices.
Ron has received numerous international and national awards for his sustainable environmental design of agricultural landscapes and recently has become involved in sustainable urban designing using the same whole of environment approach.
We have 10 hectares of native bush which if any of our animals are so found within the fenced off area do so under great risk of being “exiled”.
Suzanne is into granite rocks and patchwork!
Organic/Biological methods we use
Natural fertilisers, rotational graze, composting, water control and use, wildlife corridors/windbreaks, soil aeration.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We so enjoy meeting people of like minds. We have been fortunate to travel and to be the recipients of much hospitality. Wwoofing is a way that we feel that we can return the favour to others as a form of thanking those who have hosted us.
Having wwoofers staying with us is such a great way to “travel without travelling” as we get to know them and where they come from, their culture and family.
Over the years we have got to make real friends from all over the world. We first joined Wwoof in 2001.
