I am taking a long slow trip up down and around the east coast and would like to experience both large and small scale agricultural systems. Engaging with socially responsible people and produces to enable - A desire to learn and further develop my abilities first hand from people and places. To contribute to something meaningful and more sustainable in the big picture. I love soil! I dislike the word dirt in reference to soil.

Hey there! I am a U.S student studying sustainability and environmental action in Australia through SIT, The School for International Training. For the month of April and early May, I am conducting a research project comparing sustainability methods of different farms in Australia. I hope to WWOOF on the farms involved in my study, spending half the day working along side you then the next half working on my research. I am studying the sustainability of small scale organic vegetable farms based on agroecological principles: environmental, social, and economic sustainability. My research would involve an interview with you asking about these issues, and also would require access to internet or phone service. If you are interested in this, I would love to work alongside you on your farm to study how you implement ideas of sustainability in your local agricultural and economic markets. I am very excited to expand my knowledge about sustainable agriculture through working hands on, as I am incredibly passionate about this field and eager to learn from new farmers who are working towards a sustainable world through farming. I hope you achieve unforgettable experiences and knowledge through working hard alongside great people!

In a far distant land I don't want to be only a tourist. If I stay one/two weeks together with local people, the experiences are more sustainable. I have discovered it as a harvester in South Tyrol (apple) and Sardinia (grapes).
