The recent catastrophic bushfire events and far-reaching consequences have deepened my resolve and commitment to living in an ethical, compassionate, wise, collaborative and respectful way. I now want to deepen my understanding of how to do this. I have recently read 'Call of the Reed Warbler - a new agriculture, a new earth' by Charles Massey and also met a few farmers practicing Regenerative Agriculture. I joined WWOOF so as to have direct, grass roots access to ethical farming families and communities. I also want the opportunity to exchange and acquire skills, knowledge and experience with good people.
Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Soil conservation, Fencing, Building, Natural building methods, Using and caring for tools, Handyman, Mechanical, Wild food foraging, Bread Making
I can't think of a better way to immerse yourself in a place than with wwoofing. It allows you to learn about the land in the area from a unique perspective as well as being a great tool for generally sharing knowledge. I have formed many great friendships through wwoofing and am drawn to the values of the lifestyle.
