To experience life in a more authentic way . For me, a holiday is not about lazing around doing nothing or viewing tourist attractions .. it’s about going on an adventure where I can engage in meaningful projects that support this planet. Ryan Smith Last Active: Active 1 year, 6 months ago Age: 26-35ViewGender: MaleSkills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Regenerative Agriculture, Animal Care, Mustering, Fencing, Building, Off-grid living skillsI joined WWOOF because I've had success with it in the past and make some really cool contacts. This time around I'm in a financial position to really start thinking about my own small farm and am therefor very motivated to pick up the ins and outs of grazing as much as I can before I become responsible for my own project. Toby Ellis Last Active: Active 1 year, 7 months ago Age: 21-25ViewGender: MaleSkills I Want to Learn: Permaculture/Biodynamics, Biodynamics practices and techniques, Mustering, Beekeeping, Building, Natural building methods, Mechanical, Fermenting food, Wine makingI first joined WWOOF in San Diego, USA. I was travelling with some friends and we were running out of money so we decided to take a chance and spend a couple of days working on a farm. It turned into some of the best weeks from the whole trip, learning about soil composition, irrigation and organic farming. I hope to have more experiences like this, meeting great people and living off the land. Andy Cook Last Active: Active 1 year, 7 months ago Age: 26-35ViewGender: MaleSkills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Soil conservation, Biodynamics practices and techniques, Animal Care, Building, Natural building methodsI'm considering moving away from the built environment and working in agriculture. I think one of the biggest challenges in our time is how we produce food and the effects this has on the environment. As beef currently accounts for 5-6% of the world's carbon emissions, I'm keen to learn how we can produce low carbon beef, and other animals products, while regenerating the environment we work with. In essence, I want to gain first hand experience on soil regeneration using livestock techniques rather than just reading about it or watching Greg Judy on YouTube. I'm keen to learn all that I can and give something back to farms who are willing to host. Sebastien Jasiak Last Active: Active 1 year, 7 months ago Age: 36-55ViewGender: MaleSkills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/BiodynamicsI'm looking to be able to grow my own organic food and become as much as possible self sufficient. I love the permaculture concept to give back to the soil and improve it. We destroyed some many areas on earth that it is seriously time to take care of it if we want to still live decently on this planet the next couple of years. It seems like the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded people and explore the country. Moreover, with time off uni, I thought it would be tragic to not take this opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. Andrew Roy Werczyk Last Active: Active 1 year, 7 months ago Age: 36-55ViewGender: MaleSkills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/BiodynamicsId like to do a bit of WWOOFing to open myself to new experiences and shake off a bit of ridgid thinking ive learnt in the last 14 years. I did it earlier in the century with my sister in Tasmania and we both found it very rewarding. This is a bit of a life journey I am back on and it feels right to be free and get out and about for a little while again. This time it is just me doing a bit of soul searching. With covid-19, travel outside of Australia is limited, but after discovering WWOOF Australia, I realise there is so many amazing places to go, people to meet, and work to be done right here on home soil! Michael Lidster Last Active: Active 1 year, 7 months ago Age: 26-35ViewGender: MaleSkills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Gardening, Propagating, Composting, Soil conservation, Mulching, Building, Natural building methodsHi. My name is Michael. I have a degree in Social Science. I have WWOOFed before and enjoyed it. I live in the Northern Rivers. I'd like to visit some more farms in the northern rivers and meet great earthy people who get along with the land. I have lived at Bodhi Farm Community for a couple of years. I have WWOOFed in Bellingen and in the Northern Rivers. I am Australian if you are interested in that and I am a tall man, if height is a concern. My interests are getting earthy work done with nice sweet natured people. I enjoy swimming holes if you have a good one. I don't know if you really are hoping for specific qualifications, but I can use a variety of tools and I have done some constructive jobs that involved putting things together. Hope we can meet if you are a great land lubber. Bonswa!
