I joined WWOOF as I wanted to be able to connect with people who would like some help and can also pass on some of their knowledge. I have a lot to learn and learning on the job is a great way to do it. Learning organic farming practices and meeting interesting people are what I am hoping to get out of this experience.

Belongabill is 15kms north of Pinnaroo. We are 6km's from the SA/VIC border, on the shortest Adelaide-Sydney route, near beautiful national parks that you shouldn't miss! We are a mixed grains/sheep farm. We run about 1,000 Merino sheep, for wool and meat. Our home is surrounded by an extensive Permaculture garden. We use 'chook-tractors' for weed and pest control in the ever-changing mandala vegetable garden. Other animals include pigs, dogs, horses and geese. Tasks we need help with are: Biodynamic composting, mulching, animal care, constructing trellises and pathways, and General Farm Maintenance. Accommodation available in family home, or BYO. Minimum stay one week, Mixed diet, (GREAT bread, coffee and tea.) We attempt to eat something WE produce for every meal. No smoking inside. Happy Pig Farm is a bio-diverse Farm Tourism business in Stanthorpe South East Queensland. We have been WWOOF Hosts for 7 years and hosyted over 100 WWOOFers during this time. What our past WWOOFers have loved about being here is the diversity of experience from caring for our animals (pigs, sheep, chickens & horses), growing our own paddock to plate ingredients in our market gardens and meeting the many tourist who come to stay in our Farm Stay or visit our farm. They especially love the Good Food, Good Life and Good Company.

3 pregnant pigs n funny boar. If you're excited, please keep reading. 450 olive trees too, but they are boring compared to 4 loving social pigs. I'm getting goats n chickens n geese too but they won't beat my pigs. My pigs are the best. I have a 1.6 acre permaculture farm in Pokolbin NSW. 2 hours north of Sydney aka the big smoke. 1 have a studio log cabin n ready to build a 2nd kit log cabin. Building a great composting toilet n gas shower. Hope you're still excited. I'm happy to pay for all food etc. I'm happy for you to plant any food n do aquaponic system etc and pay for it all. I'm looking for people that dream about self sufficient living. You want to challenge yourself to not need a supermarket. If you have no car, no problem. It is 100% unpaid volunteering of up to 6 hours per day. 30 minutes is helping the pigs and the rest is doing something you're passionate about on my property. I'm not trying to save money or make money from you. If you have no car, I will look at supplying electric bikes. If you have a car, I will look at a providing a fuel card and pay for my mechanic to routinely inspect n maintain your vehicle. I haven't started making biodiesel or biogas yet. Keyword is yet! By December 2021 I want, olives, hops, lavender, Rosemary, herbs, vegetables, aquaponic system, chickens, geese, goats milk, etc included. Realistically its not 4 to 6 hours hard labour a day. More like spending time learning n playing. I'm looking for ambitious people that want to use my property as a learning curve. Can we grow rice n corn n barley? Can we try getting fertile eggs n grow chickens n geese n turkeys? Can we eat them or I'm happy to try vegetarian living...... My dream is to have a gardener n animal lover love my property. No preference in male or female, single or couple, gay or straight, religion, etc. But do want no drugs or smoking on my property at all times. If you smoke, you only have to walk up to 50 metres. Not sure about allowing pets so I guess I'm undecided. I would love to have a dog here but undecided. It's 20km from Cessnock, 16km from Broke (McNamara park) 30km from Singleton, address is available after chat. When you visit, look forward to laughing n playing with 4 pigs. Gum boots essential. I am totally excited about sharing a extremely high density organic permaculture farm development with like minded excited people. Oops. I forgot to mention my frogs, tortoises, parrots, owls, eagles, friendly snakes, lace monitors, native bees that call my property home too. My dream is to have up to 4 people enjoy being here. My dream is to work elsewhere and just visit once or twice a week to have an awesome BBQ n do hard farm labour.

I am not afraid of physical work, know how to hold a drill, good at problem solving and learning on the go. I'd love to be either learning new skills in permaculture, animal husbandry, building shelters - anything really! Or being able to contribute with my existing skills in workshop facilitation, writing, podcasting, video editing, workshop facilitation, collaborative art-making, craft etc. As an artist I have a DIY approach, and if I don't have a skill, am pretty astute at learning it.

I am really looking to find out more about what it takes to run and operate a farm and gain the necessary skills to be self sufficient. I will love to help out with the day-to-day activities of farm life, and I am particularly interested to meet hosts that are looking for someone to help manage, operate, or co-own a farm or homestead. I intend on starting my own permaculture farm within the next 12-24 months. Before owning my own property, I would like to get some real hands on experience for myself and my son helping maintain a homestead larger than our own suburban garden. I especially want to give my 2 Blue Heeler pups some early exposure to life on a farm. I would love to get them some experience with cattle, goats, pigs, or any large livestock that we can't have in suburbia. I have many friends who have done similar volunteering work and their enthusiasm has been really infectious. I love meeting people who are passionate about their homes and gardens and the positive impact they have on the world. Before I start my own homestead, it seems only right to learn from and help those who are already doing it.
