We (Christy and DJ) have the most wonderful piece of paradise in Northern NSW, in the Byron Hinterland. We have owned our little piece of heaven for about 2.5 years. Our working farm has 400 mature, organic avocado trees that had been neglected for several years before we bought the property. We are working hard to give these beauties the care they need to thrive once again.

Belted Galloway cattle farm in the southern highlands. We milk these cows, too - they love to be patted. We also raise chickens for breeding and eggs, have a Permaculture veggie garden, and have just planted hazelnut trees. We maintain a small wildlife reserve on part of the farm and look at grasses to make sure that the wombats we co-exist with have enough to eat. Work includes feeding chickens, tending veggie garden, moving cattle to strip graze, milking cows (in non drought situations), weeding, collecting firewood, composting & worm farming. Accomodation for 2 within our home. Shared meals, all cook together. Mixed diet. Vegetarians & vegans catered for. Children b.a. No smoking on property. Initial stay 12-14 days. Longer stays negotiable.

We live on 100 acres in the Margaret River region, with a large orchard and kitchen garden that produces a large amount of fruit and vegetables. We focus on regenerative farming, animal ethics, cooking and food production without chemicals. Currently we have chickens, sheep, dogs and cats and human children that go to the local high school but the animal numbers change regularly. We are still growing and developing so there are plenty exciting projects to be involved with.

Middalya Station is a half million acre cattle station in the remote Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The station covers numerous ranges, including the Kennedy Ranges National Park, and has a beautiful homestead with a pool and veggie garden. We are looking for help around the homestead, mainly in the kitchen and particularly during the mustering season of September to November (when all the cattle are rounded up). Help will include preparing lunches, dinners and snacks for the station workers, as well as keeping the homestead clean and tidy, maintaining the garden and caring for the house pets, including dogs and often calves during the muster. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to take a scenic helicopter flight. WWOOFers will have their own private room, shared living area, WiFi and unlimited access to the kitchen and very well stocked pantry, and we welcome all types of cuisine! You will fit right in as long as you can cook up a feed for hungry workers and make a good cup of tea!

Orchard cottage is located on the old orchard that belonged to Woollstone, which is an historic settlers homestead and is attached to Broombee Estate. Broombee is an aboriginal name meaning"Big Noise". I am an artist and illustrate books as well as paint landscapes. I have a vegetable garden which needs lots of love and care, and a formal English garden and would love some help with my flower beds and herb gardens there. Bathurst is a very safe place in Summer, a long way from Summer bushfires as we are in an open plains area, without too much bush. Our property is not too far from town, only a 20 minute walk. Internet and mobile phone coverage available, wi Fi in every room. We can pick you up from Rail station by arrangement. Winter here now and we have open fires and central heating. Toasting marshmallows anyone? Accommodation for two couples and or three singles. We enjoy our woofing. See you soon.
