I joined WWOOF because I've never had the opportunity to volunteer or work in a farm, and I'd like to try. I'd like to work in the outdoors, surrounded by nature and animals. I grew up in a small town in the countryside, so I'm used to that kind of life and it would be great to see places I wouldn't see otherwise.

WWOOF sound like a wonderful opportunity for me to be able to learn some new skills and meet new people while exploring Australia and hopefully getting to extend to a second year working holiday visa. I think I would do well working on an organic farm because I have experience around both plants and animals. I have a large garden back home where we grow fruits vegetables and herbs, and I've also spent time working in a green house. I also used to ride horses and spent years working on farms and taking care of them (feeding, mucking out stalls, etc.) as well as riding and training. I'm a hard worker and a quick learner and I enjoy anything where I get to move around and be outdoors. I also would love the opportunity to be able to help the planet by working on and supporting organic farming, so that we can decrease the amount of harmful chemicals affecting the globe.

I joined WWOOF because I had heard so many good things about it. I'm hoping to get new experiences and I would like to see the real Australian life and learn about your culture and this beautiful country of yours. WWOOF also matches my values as I would like to be part of helping in different kind of tasks and still be able to go out and explore near by areas. I would like to learn about organic food and sustainable ways of living. I am also interested about the option to work in bush fire recovery areas (I can help with re-building or with animals) to get my 2nd year working and holiday visa.

Along with my general inclination towards sustainable living, I have an interest in soil ecology (i.e. interactions between mycorrhizal fungi <--> microbiome <--> trees) and its applications in sustainable agriculture. I have been considering WWOOFing for some time and I finally got the push I needed amidst recent events relating to the bushfires and COVID-19. I find myself with a lot of free time and I have decided to take the opportunity to pursue my interest in ecology more deeply. I aim to do this by helping out at your biodynamic or permaculture farm and learning as much as I can about the process of caring for and maintaining the health of that micro-ecosystem. I hope this application is not too late to be considered! I would love to stay with a host for at least a couple of weeks, ideally more, sometime between April and August (up until my visa expires). I can help with picking, planting and anything else that might be required. I have 2 years of experience as a farmhand at a berry farm where I worked during the summers in Canada. I picked and packaged blueberries, elderberries and pumpkins as well as assisted in grafting, pruning and weeding. Anything I haven't done, I learn really quickly! Thanks so much for considering me as your WWOOFer!

I decided to join WWOF Australia, because I believe that volunteering at a farm is a very good way to get to know the culture and nature of this country. Since I also love to learn new things I am looking forward to challenge myself with new tasks. Moreover I grew up on the country side in Austria with a lot of animals (I actually love all kinds of animals, especially dogs) and being outside in the woods my whole childhood and therefore I generally feel a strong bond to nature. I am really looking forward to this exciting new chapter of my life and to getting to know new things about the culture and nature in Australia. However, I am also really excited to meet new people from Australia and all over the world.

I joined WWOOF to see more of Australia and its true landscape outside of the cities. I would also love to see the agricultural industry and help give something back to Australia as a country. I feel like this line of work would suite me perfectly and I am very excited to get started.

I joined WWOOF through Work N Holiday and am interested in learning about life on Australian Organic and Permaculture farms and learning about growing and producing organically.

First of all, I joined this platform to have this experience before death. Different agricultural habits all over the world have an important effect on the culture of people and even human beings. I think that experiencing this will contribute to understanding and making sense of new geographies. I am also excited that I can find time and space to take plant and animal photos and videos. Secondly and honestly, I want to keep my money in my hand in these hard days.

I want to own a farm in the future.  And the reason I choose Australia is that I’m interested in  Australian wildlife.  I want to touch a lot of nature, and practice my English conversation skills, too.

It's time I started to learn how to grow things and live less from supermarkets. This has been on my mind for too long, and I think now, with what's happening with this crazy virus, it's time for me to embrace living in an alternative way.

I joined WWOOF primarily because I am looking for a way to help mitigate the effects of the devastating wildfires that have impacted so much of Australia. I have yet to find an organization that places international volunteers in communities in need so hopefully I can find a farm in need through the WWOOF platform.

I joined woof so I could experience Australia outside of the tourist and travelling side of things. I'm keen to learn new skills and meet new people, and hopefully just gain overall experience in farm work.

I am a Canadian environmental studies student taking a semester off of school in Australia to volunteer in bushfire relief and to generally just spend some time outside the school environment. Looking forward to learning more about sustainable agriculture practices and Aussie culture!

Skills I Want to Learn:
I want a holiday and get out of my usual routine.  For the last several years, I've been doing a lot of work in front of a computer and it's time for a break from that.  Most of that time was spent living and working on my own, which was fine, but I’m ready for a change. I want to meet some new people, try some new things, and work cooperatively with others. I like being physically fit and using my body to achieve practical outcomes.  I also really enjoy being out in nature and interacting with animals. I enjoy gardening and I especially enjoy eating fresh, healthy food from the garden.  I don’t have a vegie garden of my own at the moment, so I’d enjoy participating in an organic farm.  I also want to support organic farms in general. I’ve done a lot of research into composting and I’d like to use my knowledge to help others.

Are you keen to learn what is involved in running an almost self sufficient farm? Would you like to work with animals and plants, set up new systems and maintain existing systems on the farm and learn how to improve soil quality? Would you like to eat homegrown food, discover how to separate cream and make butter and preserve excess produce? Are you not afraid of hard work, keen to learn and easygoing? If so, volunteering with us may be for you!

I would like to do some woofing to be useful, develop skills, meet with and share daily life experiences with Australian people. I am convinced of the need for our human societies to transform massively, structurally and immediately to face the challenges of our century. Also, I feel the necessity to take concrete actions to try to be the change that I wish to see in the world.^^ When I return to France I plan to create an “oasis” community, an alternative ecosystem base on 5 mains elements : - 1- Live in community with communal living spaces - 2- Food autonomy - 3- eco-construction and energy self-sustainability - 4- a respectful governance of each member - 5- Welcome and openness to the world I have a global idea about the concept of my project but not all the concrete knowledge to materialise it and make it possible. That's why I really would like to use my stay in Australia to acquire skills in sustainable agriculture and energy.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I would like to know about organic farm because in my opinion, good foods are so important to us. So I would like to see it by my own eyes and experience the process. In Australia, many cafes and restaurants have more option for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and so on than My country. So I would like to be more connected to foods, equals nature, and bring them back to Japan.
