I have previously WWOOFed in France and always enjoy visiting my rural friends where days are often spent working alongside them on gardening and building projects. I am currently considering options for moving to the country and find that you can't beat the experience of living in communities to learn more about them. I joined WWOOF Australia to further develop my skills by being directly involved in regenerative agriculture and permaculture projects.

I don't love living full time in the city. I've always known about WWOOFing and have wanted to join, so here I am. I do not have room for a garden where I live at the moment and would love to spend time helping out on a property with a garden or a farm. I would love to learn about organic farming, permaculture etc. and I've had chickens in the past and love them. I prefer to learn hands on, am a quick learner and a hard worker, I also look forward to exploring and meeting new people while not working.

I have already been a WWOOFer 10 years ago when I did a Work and Holiday year in New Zealand. I never forgot the awesome experiences I made with different kind of people and very different life styles and always wanted to do it again. Luckily I get the chance now to make more of these great experiences.

The HUF is an urban farm located in the picturesque hills of Perth located approx. 30 kilometres from the CBD.  The property is located on an acre of land with a vision of self sufficiency. Accommodation is a fully en-suited room with own shower and toilet within the main home. Queen sized bed with built in robes. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE ON SEVERE WATER RESTRICTIONS WHICH UNFORTUNATELY MEANS 5 MINUTE SHOWERS AND GENERAL CARE WITH WATER OVERALL WE REQUIRE YOU TO RESPECT THIS. Live produce includes bee hive, chickens, quails, aquaponics (for fish farming), mealworm farms, black soldier fly farms and worm farms. We try and make own produce on the property including preserving, pickling, dehydrating. The property has solar into the grid but we are wanting to expand to a solar stand alone battery system to run the additional aquaponic systems we want to build and install.

We have joined WWOOF to work and learn from people who share a similar vision for a healthy food production system. We wish to gain experience in different climates, methods and enterprises to one day contribute to this movement by establishing our own farm but currently lack the experience to do so efficiently. We have heard from people involved in WWOOF that their experiences have been positive and are highly recommended. We wish to network with community around this shared view and discover our niche and best fit to contribute our share. We are not currently committed to a particular area so it seems the best time to get out there and take advantage of the WWOOF collective of like minded people.

We both wanted an opportunity to meet different people, to lend a hand and learn their ways of organic agriculture. It would create a level of intimacy and purpose to our travels. We hope to learn how people go about contributing to our populations food or feed themselves, from paddock to plate with minimal impact on the environment. To open our minds to alternative practice and getting us in touch with the work that goes into our food. Develop an appreciation for our meals and a respect towards the land it comes from. And SIMPLY we just would like to get our hands dirty and then share a rewarding meal and beverage with the hosts post our hard days work. To share our stories and have a laugh.

The House of the Rising Sun. Be the first to watch and wake up to the sunrise in Australia, perched on top of a mountain on the most eastern part of Australia, at the end of a valley, in a secret, giant forest overlooking the vast, majestic Pacific Ocean, is a place called Kinabalu. Many guests & travellers guests started to call it The Treehouse - a name that has now stuck. This is a private conservation park in principle with much work to do, including gardening, tree planting & environmental repair work. Surrounded by a rainforest sanctuary & nature reserve, you can take walks into old growth forest & swim in the waterfalls, so make sure you bring your walking shoes. It has been quite an achievement, building this over the last 11 years. I am presently focused on the garden. Come and plant some herbs if you have a green thumb. See you at The Treehouse - an experience you'll never forget!

I joined WWOOF because although working on a farm has been a dream of mine since high school, I have since spent seven years working in an office so I thinks it's about time I went and explored Australia and had a go at farm work. My experience is very minimal but I am very keen and would love to learn lots of new skills, I have some knowledge of gardening as that has interested me since childhood.

We joined WWOOF as we are hoping to be able to travel around Australia for 18 months to two years starting in mid-January 2021 and we would love to learn more about organic farming, permaculture, biodynamics and self-sufficiency. We would also like to give our children (who have mostly been raised in the city) the experience of life on a farm, a greater connection to nature, an opportunity to build greater resilience, and an appreciation for where their food comes from and the importance of supporting sustainable agricultural practices. We also love the idea of being able to give back by working in various capacities on different farms and helping to spread the message about the importance of organic, sustainable and regenerative farming, with a view to being part of the change that we'd like to see in the world.
