Hello, we are Katrina and Finn and we live at Beachwood. It is a 2 acre patch of land that is part of the Eco-Village in the beautiful Currumbin Valley. Situated in the hinterlands of the Gold Coast, Queensland, we are just ten minutes from the BEACH and half an hour from all a city can offer. The bus pictured is the woofers accom! So far, people love it! Katrina is an architect/builder/ and Finn is a sculptor/builder/musician we have a lot to share with a willing worker and we always try to have fun while we create! We speak French, German and welcome all cultures... Here on Beachwood we grow as much of our own food as possible. We are building our own unique timber framed  house, as well as maintaining the land and undertaking a number of other interesting projects. We are looking for WWoofers that have building skills to help us finish our unique hand-made timber house and general gardening skills.

I have joined wwoof to meet the people who are interested in me and my journey round Australia as much as I am interested in their story. What has bought you to this point? I believe that travel should not just be for the wealthy and see the woof scheme as a great facilitator in dispanding that myth. I believe that the scheme is about good experiences and interactions not just cheap labour. I will work hard but only if I think the attitude and outlook of the host is viewed as a reciprocal and fair exchange. happy to work 5 hours a day on average with days off to enjoy the local area and surroundings. But the work must be varied and interesting, that being said I do know the nature of a fair days work as have worked hard my whole life. I am happy to undertake tree work this would be at a reduced rate, but enough to cover my skill set and maintenance of my gear. If this is of interest let me know.

Only recently I heard of WWOOF on a podcast. Looking into it was something that called me to do so. I see that it is mostly for overseas volunteers but I thought, why not give it a go. My work is of a freelance nature, so I often have clumps of days off, sometimes a couple of weeks. I am currently considering leaving Sydney. As well as wanting to experience the country life I have always wanted to see more of Australia. Where to go is an open book. I would love to find a host in Tasmania, but I am open to all opportunities. I am interested in learning about living in unison with nature. I am curious about raising Beef and other animals for food. Permaculture techniques, living sustainably, off grid, water catchment, enriching and producing soil, composting. Building and maintaining fences and other requirements around a property. Taking care of pets and plants. I hope to learn various skills and a greater understanding of what is required to live this life. One day moving into this world permanently.

I want to visit the owner's farm and learn how to take care of it with permaculture skills. I love to communicate with people who love plants and trees. I come from Taiwan and many friends of mine told me about WWOOF. I want to try this way for traveling in Australia.

Our Property is located 35km from Mudgee, NSW. We are currently in the process of setting up as many food gardens as possible with raised beds as well as general cleanup on the land. The cleanup of the land includes leaves and wood. Most of the material will be used for composting, however, we will also be maximizing on the usage of each- ie, we will use some good wood for burning or milling down the track. Nothing is to be wasted and everything is to be put to use for whatever it may be used for. I and my wife invite friendly people to join us to achieve this. We have a beautiful home made entirely from rock and wood with plenty of room for visitors. We do offer extensive knowledge on food and health and longevity- not the stuff they try to sell you- the real deal. Our aim, down the track, is to also build small Yurts for future visitors and to grow our property to be a place to visit for all woofers and travelers.

We (Christy and DJ) have the most wonderful piece of paradise in Northern NSW, in the Byron Hinterland. We have owned our little piece of heaven for about 2.5 years. Our working farm has 400 mature, organic avocado trees that had been neglected for several years before we bought the property. We are working hard to give these beauties the care they need to thrive once again.

We would like to contribute our workforce to the australian community to make up for the great expiriences we've been given and the beautiful places we got to visit. Also Australia has become our new home and it hurt to see it burn down on the news every day during the bushfires. Therefore now we feel like it's the perfect way of saying thank you to all the help and kindness we've expirienced from Aussies so far.

I am really passionate about organic agriculture and want to experience it on the ground with my hands. I think WWOOf will give me the opportunity to engage with the world in a way that I have yet to - really get my hands dirty and learn from experience. I am sick of sitting on my computer, I want to engage, live in the world, and do work that I am really passionate about, which is organic farming.
