'Huntly' is an organic cattle property in the beautiful Arcadia Valley in Central Qld. We run 2000 head of cattle that graze on natural pastures & are rotated regularly. We practice Regenerative Agriculture in all aspects of soil, vegetation, water and wildlife. We grow a 1000ha native forest, harvest seeds & germinate. We also grow a healthy food forest with delicious seasonal tropic fruit. A permaculture garden supplies an abundance of fresh food and supports our chickens, worms & bees. The accommodation is a creative cool mud house that will cool & ground you. There is lots of opportunity to explore your creative side as well. One must be frog friendly, the green tree frogs are beautiful. We hold a two day festival every Equinox (March & September) where we celebrate the changing seasons. Next March we hope to explore Natural Sequence farming where water is slowed down and diverting into the landscape. Huntly is a beautiful and exciting property to stay with many National Parks to visit and bush walking on your days off. There are many opportunities and lots of fun to be had here.

Nestled in an organic property of sixty hazelnuts, chestnuts and walnuts trees on a hobby farm in the Victorian High Country, we are an adventurous couple with two sweet dogs living a good country life. The nut harvest season is February and March and we'd love your assistance during this period to primarily collect the nuts, then sort and pack them for market. We also harvest plums and apples during these months, and you're welcome to help us make jam and other preserves if you like cooking.

Work may include harvesting, food collection, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners.  Accom for up to 3 in our home, although we usually prefer 2. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats everything, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. We are nestled on 100 acres of stunning bushland in the midst of the Wattagan forest of the Lower Hunter Valley, 1.5 hours from Sydney. There is a wide variety of wildlife including lyrebirds, wallabies, echidnas and wombats, blue and fairy wrens, kookaburras, satin bower birds, black and sulphur crested cockatoos. We are growing tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchinis, mustard greens, rocket, kale, broccoli, carrots, beans (all types), herbs (all types), citrus, and many other fruits and vegetables. We are in the process of developing a master plan for our property, having moved here in August 2018. We will be increasing the number of fruit trees, are continually expanding the vegetable gardens, and enjoy fresh eggs with our 9 chickens and 2 roosters (father and son). The property is situated on the crest of a hill, with a beautiful area for camping and meandering in the valley by a natural brook, and another area at the top for workshops and retreats which we plan to establish or host. Keith has a background in ag science and biotech start-ups (after a first career as a university professor); Brynnie has been growing not-for-profit organisations in the sustainability, health, digital media with Indigenous communities, and social justice space (after a first career in international corporate law) and has studied Zen Shiatsu. Keith has lived in Germany and Brynnie is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese (having lived in Brazil) and gets by in French. Our children are in their early 20s, in university, and Keith also has older children and young grandchildren. We moved to this property in 2018 after having lived in Sydney for more than 25 years.

We are located north of sunny Brisbane in a beautiful native forest. We are regenerating the native bush land with local and interstate Australian native plants, most we propagate from seed, to attract birds and wildlife. We have many beautiful birds visit daily, parrots, cockatoo, kookaburra, lorikeets... and wallabies, koala and possums on occasions. We are interested in permaculture landscaping to create an habitat for birds and wildlife and where people can live harmoniously. We are creative people and live sustainably. We have an organic vegetable garden. I have been gardening all my life. I propagate my vegetables and herbs from saved seeds. Richard has a lot of experience in construction and loves designing and building with recycled timber. We have a large comfortable home with a swimming pool which is solar heated. You will have a private bedroom and bathroom with a very comfortable bed. Brisbane is in the subtropical region which means we have beautiful sunny weather most days of the year. We enjoy going with our volunteers to beaches, walking in the rainforests and hiking to the waterfall to swim. And certain times of the year we love to go whale watching and to visit the sea turtles nesting and hatching. We are both gourmet cooks. We are not chefs but we did own a restaurant a few years ago. We love healthy food and we are mostly vegetarian although we cater to any diet choices. We have many interesting and creative projects we need help with outside and occasionally inside. We require people to work 4-6 hours per day with 2 days off per week. We provide breakfast lunch and dinner. We would prefer people to stay at least two weeks and long term is an option. If you like our profile please send us a message.
