The House of the Rising Sun. Be the first to watch and wake up to the sunrise in Australia, perched on top of a mountain on the most eastern part of Australia, at the end of a valley, in a secret, giant forest overlooking the vast, majestic Pacific Ocean, is a place called Kinabalu. Many guests & travellers guests started to call it The Treehouse - a name that has now stuck. This is a private conservation park in principle with much work to do, including gardening, tree planting & environmental repair work. Surrounded by a rainforest sanctuary & nature reserve, you can take walks into old growth forest & swim in the waterfalls, so make sure you bring your walking shoes. It has been quite an achievement, building this over the last 11 years. I am presently focused on the garden. Come and plant some herbs if you have a green thumb. See you at The Treehouse - an experience you'll never forget!

To be in nature. To gain more skills, to develop a better work life balance, to have free accommodation as rent in Sydney is putting me well below the poverty line and is completely unsustainable. I would really like to make more friends with like minded people who are peaceful, interesting, respectful, considerate, kind and loving. WWOOFing is an experience on my bucket list I have wanted to try for ages.

I don't love living full time in the city. I've always known about WWOOFing and have wanted to join, so here I am. I do not have room for a garden where I live at the moment and would love to spend time helping out on a property with a garden or a farm. I would love to learn about organic farming, permaculture etc. and I've had chickens in the past and love them. I prefer to learn hands on, am a quick learner and a hard worker, I also look forward to exploring and meeting new people while not working.

City/Town: Sarina
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: In Our Home
I have 5 acres in Sarina, North Queensland, a beautiful place with a creek running through the middle. I have developed the 21/2 acres on the house side of the property with raised vegetable gardens, established fruit trees, chickens and ducks. My hopes are to start development on the other side of the property. I have cleared it off and it has water and ready to go. But I would need help.

After close to 10 years in the city, I’m starting to think about returning to the land. It’s something that’s been on my mind for a while. In the first instance, I did a lot of reading and research. Now, I’m interested in gaining hands-on experience with small-scale, intensive cropping such as flower and veggie production. Would love to spend some time working alongside an energetic family or team.

I can see soooo many vegetables and fruits in Australia! and there is a lot of kind and almost things made in Australia. I was surprised because there are many import vegetables in my country. and I often see the word " organic" in Australia. I'm interested in organic food because I have some trouble in my body. I think the things I eat make our body. So I really want to know how they are made. And I LOVE Australian culture!! That why I want to join WWOOF.

I’m really hoping WWOOFing can help me find the right fit for me. A one stop website for all thing WWOOFing is super convenient. WWOOFing will help me be able to have a better work/home balance. I can’t wait to learn new skills, meet new people and see new places. If all goes well maybe in the future I can host WWOOFers.

To go rural in my own backyard. Unfortunately, I won't have the chance to go on a rural placement as part of my degree so am looking to go rural and get some horse-y experience under my belt during one of my university breaks. I am especially interested in WWOOFing experiences that include horse care, mustering or other horse experience activities.

I stumbled upon it when I was researching possible things to do. I joined because I am also very interested in the environment and am studying it at university next semester. I am hoping to have fun and gain some experience in a different field of work.

As I said in my profile, I want to go back to nature and I love the concept of wwoofing. The idea to share activities with people in this way is just a dream. It will be also an Opportunity for me to discover Australia and to improve my English. A friend of mine did it and she told me that it was the best experience ever.

I joined WWOOF because I believe that all living things are interconnected - therefore I want to learn how to sustain our environment and live in harmony with each other. I am very interested in learning more about Permaculture and getting some hands on experience in an organic farm. I value supporting local farmers, so being an Australian exploring my own backyard, I want to help out in any way that I can. From my WWOOFing experiences, I hope to gain more knowledge and skills in Permaculture, growing organic produce and sustaining our earth, so I can be the change I want to see and share my learnings with others. I want to meet and make connections with incredible people by learning about their culture and their stories. Finally, I hope to gain more clarity on the direction of my next chapter and start putting some ideas into action.

To learn from farmers and fellow WWOOFERS and to contribute to a worthy life purpose... growing food and caring for the land and its inhabitants. I am now able to travel Australia wide, spending time on the land to understand this diverse environment. I have recently completed a number of farm sitting roles over the past two years, that primarily involved caring for farm animals and pets.
