**Please note we have a number of partner websites that we work with and are not able to check all of them frequently so please fill out the form on our website which will come directly to us via email. See Full Property Details for a link. Welcome, we are a 4 year old permaculture farm located near Yeppoon looking for people who are keen to learn about all things permaculture and who have a passion for sustainability. Our long-term goal is to create a self-sustaining community on the farm and we have made a huge amount of progress in our first few years of set up and operation. Our food forest will have up to 7 layers from canopy to root vegetables. Our market garden is something special with over 50 varieties of temperate/sub tropical/ tropical food plants. The property includes a number of other sustainable features. We want to be clear with you that you will be joining a working farm where we are trying to create a permaculture-based business model that can actually support itself without relying on outside philanthropy. This is a huge challenge in itself and requires a lot of hard work such as weeding, mulching, prepping garden beds, digging holes & fencing but we must remember we are in the foundational stages of creating something that will last and that has already touched many people's lives. We will do our best to teach you as much as we can about Permaculture and about the different aspects of our operation as we go along as well. The position is well suited to people who want hands-on experience growing their own chemical-free food and learning how to create a dynamic eco-business model that includes tours, events, a paddock to plate restaurant and education. This is a voluntary position with the expectation of 25 hours of work a week (Monday to Friday) in exchange for: - Modern single and double rooms available with attached en-suites - Some restaurant meals provided at our nearby paddock to plate restaurant - All other meals provided with the opportunity to prepare meals directly from the garden and learn about holistic food preparation methods - Wifi provided at the resort 4 kilometres away - Access to cars, bikes, a SUP and canoes to explore the nearby area - A yoga class each week in our nearby yoga studio - Landscape to explore over the 140 acre property - Endless love from our free range animals - 2 dogs, 3 miniature horses, 4 horses, 6 sheep, 18 cows, 3 pigs, chickens and ducks with more arriving all the time - 4kms from the beach and close to and National Parks, Great Keppel Island and The Southern Great Barrier Reef Requirements for helpers staying on our beautiful farm: - A passion for plants and a desire to learn about food systems - A minimum of 5 hours of work a day (Monday-Friday) - A minimum commitment of 4 weeks - The ability to shovel, weed and move compost - The ability to share a space with others and respect the upkeep our the living quarters The property really is something special and we are uniquely positioned being only 10 minutes from town and 5 minutes to the beach. Many people come for a few weeks and end up staying for 6 months or more. Volunteers get the unique experience of what it is like living in a small community. We see ourselves as one big family on the farm. Everyone is welcome to contribute equally. We live by the permaculture ethics of land care, people care and fair share.  Wherever possible, we reduce our waste, use available resources and eat directly from the garden. We are also now offering a 6 Month (Unpaid) Internship Program that will see participants rotate around a number of different departments of our business and receive one-on-one mentoring on how to set up and run a dynamic eco-business operation. Our property is an eco-tourism retreat in a large private habitat reserve, 50 minutes south from Hobart Tasmania. Lots of birds, wildlife, forest, walking tracks. Variety of tasks, including construction, firewood cutting, walking track and cabin maintenance. As Covid has reduced our tourism activity, most tasks are physical and outdoor, associated with property maintenance. Few of the tasks are cabin housekeeping, so if cleaning and guest services are your preferred main activities, you might be happier at a different property.

Beautiful 300 acre farm which we run wool sheep, alpaca, house cows, horses, chickens and bees. Although we've been farming all our lives, we've only been on this farm for a few years so we are still setting up. In addition to looking after the farm and animals we are growing vegetables and setting up an orchard.  We love our farming lifestyle and are always looking to enjoy and improve our farm. Its great having people come and enjoy the farm with us and join in the lifestyle. We are keen to explore ideas such as care farming and social enterprises. We have a nice new self contained donger set up with kitchen, toilet, bathroom, aircon for you to stay in or your welcome to bring your own caravan etc.

Levenvale is an original old dairy farm of the Bellingen district.  We purchased it from a family who had owned it for 130 years over 3 generations.  It was tired and needed some new life.  We took on the project in June 2019, to renovate, reinvigorate, reinvent (from dairy to beef) and regenerate.  It is organically certified (in conversion) and consists of 300 acres of lush green pasture, 200 acres of beautiful rainforest (& trails) surrounded by amazing mountain scenery (for coastal NSW terms).  5km to town, 20km to the beach, 30km to Coffs Harbour. We are a husband and wife and have 3 small children and travelling abroad has always been a big part of our lives. We hope by opening our home to WWOOFers we will make some friendships and get some help with the conversion project we have ahead of us!

City/Town: Boreen Point
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Separate Building, Caravan, BYO Accommodation
Hello this Kate and Big Al here.  We are happy to welcome you. Lake Cootharaba retreat, our suburban Permaculture garden and retreat is situated in Boreen Point, a small village surrounded by the beautiful biosphere region of Cooloola National Park, on the shores of the stunning Lake Cootharaba and 1/2 hr from Noosa.  Our garden has evolved organically over the years according to  permaculture principles and ethics. A bohemian place with little nooks and grannies for reflection and relaxing. The garden is to be redesigned as a Permaculture teaching space. We also moved a small house onto a three acre rural property in Pomona, 20 minutes from Boreen Point two years ago. Half the property and the gardens around the newly established house are to be incorporated into a Permaculture design. So there is lots to learn and share and we are really open to learning too. With challenges due to Covid and difficulties with accomodation for many people we are open to longer stays and  possibilities to earn extra income in the neighbourhood or on the property. We have a few types of accomodation to choose from. Hoping to hear from you. Best wishes Kate and Al.

Originally from Konstanz /Germany I have moved in 2018 from Sydney to Franklin/Tasmania.I have bought 7 acres of land( which used to be a raspberry orchard,)back in February 2019. There was nothing on the land apart from a shed and an overgrown dam. 18 months and a lot of effort later, I have establish what I call my basecamp:). I am connected to the grid, have plenty of rainwater in my tanks, a fireplace which keeps me warm and a well equipped workshop. I am currently working on my cottage, so anyone with building skills is most appreciated. Looking after my  ever growing garden, my 6 ewes or making firewood for the next winter is always on the todo list:)

I have tried the grey nomad life for the last 4 years however just travelling around without purpose isn't suiting me well. Gracie and I really enjoy travelling around and don't want to settle in one place but we also want to find people I can help out in a meaningful way. I am also looking for work where I can continue to learn new things as well. Ideally I would like to set up a number of places where we could travel between them semi-regularly and am open to places all over Australia. I would be happy help out with building projects of any description, am still very handy on the tools and have all my own kit, however I am no longer a registered builder.
