I joined WWOOF to help out on farms, to learn how to grow organically, to meet cool new people and do something a bit different. It is my dream to one day have my own bit of land and grow my own food, so the skills I learn now wwoofing will be so helpful acheiving my goal. I was born and raised in Karrinyup, in the suburbs of Perth and want to get back in contact with more sustainable and authentic ways of living.

Sustainability, regenerative agriculture and food security are going to be integral to our future and what better time to get ones hands dirty than the middle of a pandemic.

I am looking forward to meeting backpackers and hosts and to broaden my horizons in a community of like-minded people. I am from the UK and after completing a degree and Masters in Linguistics I am moving to Australia to explore social and work opportunities. I really want to learn sustainable practices and how to live an organic lifestyle 🙂

I have ALWAYS been interested in plants, trees, and nature in general from a wee girl. I dabble in my vegie garden out home, but l would like a better understanding of producing food, animals, or building knowledge on a larger scale in a natural environment. Hopefully l can take the experiences with me from what l have learnt on these farms and put the knowledge into my own farm in the near future.

Farming has been a recent source of inspiration for me: I was spoilt growing up in the tropics with mangos and papaya and passion fruit. And the lifestyle that accompanies living in a warm climate, like playing soccer all the time, is distinct from many American ways of living. I graduated college with the intention of pursuing a medical degree and advocating lifestyle (food, activities, habits) as medicine. Unfortunately, I ended up in a laboratory in New York City appalled by its unsustainability in a time of dire climate intervention. I'm imagining farming to be a very rewarding experience; a daily reminder of where I'm from and as guidance towards the next step. I spent a lot of time playing soccer and working out hoping to be a pro! growing up and I would like to dedicate that same energy towards farm work.

I joined WWOOF to meet people who live regeneratively & organically, to learn and experience in some part, this way of living. There is so much that is shown on social media about what people are doing in these fields. It's inspiring and resonates with me! I would love to move out of the city and so to meet folk who live this way would fabulous. I'm not afraid of hard work and I crave nature. I joined WWOOF to be able to meet people who live in cycles with nature and a natured based pace of living. I look forward to meeting you and being a part of living and working this way!

To experience Australia in an unique way leant some new skills, and hopefully share some!   I have a couple of friends with properties doing similar things and I really love to be involved in a community way, and meet new people and see new places. Bonus that I hate cooking and would rather come help on the farm than in the kitchen haha

I joined WWOOF because it provides me with an immediate network of trusted people who are exploring new ways to live and work in Australia. I hope to continue to meet, learn from, and be inspired by hosts along the eastern seaboard.

Since I was young, I have been interested in raising animals and managing crops, and I like to communicate with foreigners and make memories. Not only can I experience foreign cultures, but I also want to spend my vacation in a cool way. All the Australian memories and photos that I took about 12 years ago have been erased. Not necessarily for this reason, but after that, I have been missing those memories and I want to learn hard at a local farm in a foreign country and communicate actively with foreigners.

I got passionate about soil and I want to learn ways to build healthy soil. I hope to open a micro farm in a not so remote future, starting with a market garden.

I discovered WWOOF when I was planning a trip to Canada earlier this year. The plan was to travel from West to East but spend some quality time WWOOFing, learn some sustainable permaculture skills with like-minded people. As you can imagine the lockdowns delayed those plans, now almost indefinitely, so the next best thing is to do it in Australia.

Firstly I’m so interested in food and health issues and I think now days our food culture is going to be worse and worse, because of fast food and unhealthy atmosphere, for example too much sugar we take and unhealthy feeding life stocks we eat. And I believe what we eat is to be who we are, so if we eat too much unhealthy food, our body will be bad and the body becomes bad and our feeling will be bad. Mind is the most important thing for living our life as what we think and how to feel the world is so dependent on our mind. So I think if we want to change our own life being better, we should change our own eating habits. And WWOOF is good opportunities for me to connect with the food process. I want to change our bad food habits and make the world better!!

I joined the WWOOFing community so I can experience all the beauty Tasmania has to offer! As a west coaster, who has spent the last 7 years in Kununurra, our landscapes and temperatures are nothing alike those of Tasmania, so I am keen to adventure around this beautiful little state and spend time in different regions and WWOOFing allows me to do just that!

My son and I are looking for experiences living and working on the land. He wants to pursue a farming life in some form and it would be great to get some first hand experience and some skills along the way. It has been a tough two years of Covid and remote study and we would love to spread our wings into a different life for a while and regenerate.

I want to be useful and productive and not destroy the Planet. WWOOF is a perfect place for me to volunteer. To get back to my philosophy of "small is beautiful" lifestyle and community. I want to visit scenic, different locations where I've never been. Where WWOOF Hosts will have interesting and sustainable projects. Variety is the spice of (my) life. Whilst I'm not skilled in a lot of the farming techniques that WWOOF Hosts will be using, I'm happy to learn. I'm not afraid of hard work or long hours. I'm average strength and fitness. I just spent a few weeks in Central Otago farming country in New Zealand helping my friend on her property. Acting as her clayton's WWOOFer. Loved it. But I'd already decided I wanted to go WWOOFing in Australia long before I went to NZ. It's been an aim for many years. Just a matter now of getting the van and bike on the road. Seize all opportunities that arise. While at same time helping hardworking, conscious people realise their own sustainable, small carbon footprint lifestyle.
