See Full Property Details for a link. Welcome, we are a 4 year old permaculture farm located near Yeppoon looking for people who are keen to learn about all things permaculture and who have a passion for sustainability. Our long-term goal is to create a self-sustaining community on the farm and we have made a huge amount of progress in our first few years of set up and operation. Our food forest will have up to 7 layers from canopy to root vegetables. Our market garden is something special with over 50 varieties of temperate/sub tropical/ tropical food plants. The property includes a number of other sustainable features. We want to be clear with you that you will be joining a working farm where we are trying to create a permaculture-based business model that can actually support itself without relying on outside philanthropy. This is a huge challenge in itself and requires a lot of hard work such as weeding, mulching, prepping garden beds, digging holes & fencing but we must remember we are in the foundational stages of creating something that will last and that has already touched many people's lives. We will do our best to teach you as much as we can about Permaculture and about the different aspects of our operation as we go along as well. The position is well suited to people who want hands-on experience growing their own chemical-free food and learning how to create a dynamic eco-business model that includes tours, events, a paddock to plate restaurant and education. This is a voluntary position with the expectation of 25 hours of work a week (Monday to Friday) in exchange for: - Modern single and double rooms available with attached en-suites - Some restaurant meals provided at our nearby paddock to plate restaurant - All other meals provided with the opportunity to prepare meals directly from the garden and learn about holistic food preparation methods - Wifi provided at the resort 4 kilometres away - Access to cars, bikes, a SUP and canoes to explore the nearby area - A yoga class each week in our nearby yoga studio - Landscape to explore over the 140 acre property - Endless love from our free range animals - 2 dogs, 3 miniature horses, 4 horses, 6 sheep, 18 cows, 3 pigs, chickens and ducks with more arriving all the time - 4kms from the beach and close to and National Parks, Great Keppel Island and The Southern Great Barrier Reef Requirements for helpers staying on our beautiful farm: - A passion for plants and a desire to learn about food systems - A minimum of 5 hours of work a day (Monday-Friday) - A minimum commitment of 4 weeks - The ability to shovel, weed and move compost - The ability to share a space with others and respect the upkeep our the living quarters The property really is something special and we are uniquely positioned being only 10 minutes from town and 5 minutes to the beach. Many people come for a few weeks and end up staying for 6 months or more. Volunteers get the unique experience of what it is like living in a small community. We see ourselves as one big family on the farm. Everyone is welcome to contribute equally. We live by the permaculture ethics of land care, people care and fair share.  Wherever possible, we reduce our waste, use available resources and eat directly from the garden. We are also now offering a 6 Month (Unpaid) Internship Program that will see participants rotate around a number of different departments of our business and receive one-on-one mentoring on how to set up and run a dynamic eco-business operation. 19 ha Certified Organic farm with 4ha cleared and the rest natural bushland. Unfortunately 75% of the bushland and some pasture was burnt in the 2019 bushfire. As such we are again to be able to sign off on 2nd year Visa extension due to this disaster. Garlic was the main crop, with a fruit orchard & vegetables all in the rebuilding process. We aim to make as many foods as possible from what we grow. Vegetarian & Vegan foods are the norm as no animal meat is consumed, except by the dog. We only have sheep and a kelpie working dog that loves to play too. Other work includes crop bed building, GFM, gardening, mowing, mulching, watering, and much much more due to the bushfire disaster. The house, sheds and buildings were luckily spared by the hardworking people who assisted in saving the property! WWOOFers must be well presented with healthy habits. Accom for 1 person or couple in our guest room. Shared meals, all cook together if you like. Vegetarian / vegan diet only. Mature age WWOOFers welcome. No smoking. Long stays easily negotiable, ie do you need 88days signed off!

I've been working. with permaculture professionally all over the world, and have just returned this year after 31 years living overseas (mostly India and various parts of Europe). Having designed for so many others, finally it's time again to design our own place (my wife Francesca is an Italian agronomist), and build another house (the old one is in the rainforest we planted and in need of restoration as a guest house. We're planting an extensive food forest of hugely diverse species, to add to what remains of the original forest garden, as well as extensive vegetable gardens for our own kitchen, for friends and guests. This whole land, shared with two others, is a remarkable arboretum of mainly Australian rainforest species, and there are kilometres of footpaths all over the land, giving access to most of the most beautiful parts of it. One boundary is over a kilometre of stunning rainforest creek, there is a large pond on the land, and the views of the world heritage national parks and caldera of the ancient volcano are spectacular. We eat very well, having an international cooking capacity; we are not extreme, but cook only vegetarian food generally.

The Bog Conservation Area is situated in the beautiful Bungawalbyn catchment. There are 96.5 acres set aside as habitat and there are about 3 acres with home, guest cottage and photographic/film studio. The living area is set up with permaculture principles in mind.  Gardens are near the home and I grow herbs and veggies for food and medicine. I have been impacted by the 2019/2020 bushfires and need some help recovering my garden, which has suffered terribly while the fires were in our area. It is a beautiful property, some of my property was burnt, but I am well set up to accommodate WWOOFers, and would love you to help me and my property to to recover and revive.

City/Town: Kenilworth
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: BYO Accommodation
We have 120 acres 50 hectares located in the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland. Our nearest town is Kenilworth about 5 km away. We have beef cattle and an organic veggie garden and fruit orchard. There are three families living on the farm. We are the parents and our sons and their wives and children live here also in our own homes. We need help maintaining the gardens and building new garden/orchard areas, and some help with moving the cows and working on the cattle yards and fences upkeep. The sleeping arrangements can be tent and/camper trailers in close proximity to the cottage with the bathroom. We have a swimming pool and a dam to swim in, although I much prefer the pool! Our son is a competitive sports shooter and safety officer at the local gun range. Occasionally we shoot the feral deer on our property to eat although I don’t like the taste of Venison, everyone else enjoys eating it! Cheers Susan
