Habitat Vineyard is a 4 ha property with 2 ha of vines. We are organic, biodynamic and designed with permaculture principles. We have Warre bee hives, run a small flock of sheep, free range chickens, have dogs & cats as house pets. The property borders the Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area. There is no public transport available but we collect people from Orange, which has a train & coach services from Sydney. Work includes vineyard maintenance, nursery work, vegetable gardening, weeding & some garden construction & design. Preference will be given to those who have completed a permaculture design course. Free WiFi and reasonable mobile phone reception are available. Accom for 6 in tents that we provide. Vans welcome. Shared meals, mixed diet and vegetarians catered for. Children b.a. NSI. Initial stay 10-14 days, longer stays negotiable.

Treefarm is on 60 ha in rainforest environment with 3 streams and 18m waterfall, surrounded by wilderness, 20 kms from Tully. I have been a WWOOF host since 1989 and have had close to 600 wwoofers over the years! 4 ha partly commercial orchard, partly collection of irrigated exotic fruits of more than 100 species from South America and Borneo. I need help clearing, planting, harvesting, weeding and building. Opportunity to taste many exotic fruits & vegetables, especially in summer. Much wildlife, incl cassowaries & 124 bird species. Natural swimming pools in rainforest around house. Good rainforest walks and interpretation available, Mission Beach 16 kms away. Host has substantial library and is a trained ESL Teacher. He is an expert on new tropical fruits and vegetables and produces and edits Australian Rare Fruit Review, a journal on this topic. No Smoking Indoors. Accom for 4 in separate WWOOFer room, children b.a. Good vegetarian food. Min. 3 days notice of visit please, min stay 5 days. Please bring a torch (flashlight) with you. Dean lives on 5 acres - Hosted by himself & his dog Roger. A small hobby farm, Deans Greens is a marriage of cows, pigs, sheep, chooks, ducks, geese & a worm farm. Dean is a musician on weekends, giving WWOOFers a great opportunity to see other parts of Newcastle and the Hunter, and be part of some quality entertainment. I have a lovely historic 10 acre farm running around 15 Merino and Merino x sheep, Truffle Farm and Kitchen Garden. The Truffiere will be expanded next winter to diversify and include white truffles, olive trees and bee hives.. Built in 1894, there is a lot of history here including a large stone barn that was once used the village school and a prohibition bar! There are a wide variety of fruit trees and preserving to do including Mulberry's, table grapes, citrus, lemons, limes, loquats, cumquat, figs, pomegranate, olives, peaches, pears, apples, nectarines. We have a poultry unit with egg layers, heritage Brahma from the UK and Japanese Quail. We are chemical free which means weeding, mulching etc and we are water wise. You will have your own room in the main house with Antique double bed and main bathroom used by the Guest rooms only.
