  I know someone who is into bio-dynamic organic farming & he's going to help me with  this new project. We are going to design & then execute a master plan for the property so it is as self- reliant as possible, we will also be using knowledge from Peter Andrews about how to turn the usually dry seasonal creek bed into a permanent year round water source, we will be doing swales & contouring of the land to slow down the water flow & to hopefully give it year round hydration that won't require hardly any extra irrigation. I already had an organic vege garden in town which was great, but the idea is to expand on that. There is a lake just next door (3-5 min drive and you are at the water’s edge), Mount Glorious Rd is also just 3 minutes away which is also a beautiful area to explore.

Hello! We're a couple living in the beautiful Tamar Valley of Tasmania. We've been living here for about two years, enjoying the great surroundings of Tamar River/kanamaluka. Our property lies directly on Stony Brook, a small stream that enters the main river. We get regular visitors like black swans, egrets, pelicans and eagles. We've also seen echidna's on the property. We have a number of free-range animals, including chickens, turkeys and alpacas. We also have our two dogs, Bella and Meesha. In addition, we grow vegetables and fruit in our garden, using organic techniques to get tomatoes, zucchini, nectarines, and herbs, amongst other plants. There are lots of things to do each day to maintain the property, garden and animals. We're pretty outgoing, taking the chance to visit the best spots Tasmania has to offer. We've seen a lot, but there's plenty for us still to see! We have kayaks and camping gear, which you'll be able to use. We live in a small village called Blackwall, about 25 minutes drive from Launceston. We're only a short walk from the shops in nearby Exeter or the cafes in Gravelly Beach. We're even within walking distance of a local winery. It's just close enough to conveniences without the hustle and bustle of a big town.

Bundagen is a rural community of 120 adults plus children, situated on the coast 30km south of Coffs Harbour, close to the mouth of the Bellinger River. Main interests are permaculture and alternative building. Many members are happy to take WWOOFers for short stays each. No cats or dogs, mainly vegetarians, some Hosts eat meat/fish. OUR COMMUNITY Bundagen is an intentional community established in August 1981 with three guiding principles:
  • social harmony;
  • environmental responsibility;
  • and economic independence.
We are a rural land sharing co-operative and wildlife sanctuary. We see our community as having essentially a caretaker role for this piece of coastal land and aim to create only low impact development. Regeneration of native vegetation in environmentally fragile areas is a focus, as is an emphasis on organic gardening. THE LAND Bundagen Co-operative owns and manages a total of 313 hectares of private property on the mid-north coast of NSW, just south of Coffs Harbour. Bongil Bongil National Park forms all our boundaries including a headland and ocean beach. Bundagaree Creek runs through part of the land and we have two freshwater lakes. A percentage of our land has high environmental value, approx 50% of which is protected and managed under a formal Conservation Agreement. Our land sits within the Gumbaynggirr nation.
