Orchard Cottage grows field roses for picking, as well as hydrangeas and other flowers, on 1 acre. The roses are grown for sale to the general public and wholesale. I am situated in the hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula, overlooking Philip Island. If you would like to go sightseeing during your stay I am willing to drive you around. The closest beaches are Shoreham and Point Leo. Work includes picking roses, maintenance of rose bushes, weeding, mulching and general garden maintenance as the garden is open to the public and needs to be kept neat & tidy. As the garden is open to the public, we prefer English speaking (or fluent in English) WWOOFers. We start early at 7am and work 4-6 hrs. The work is not difficult, but we prefer those who are adaptable to a variety of jobs. Accommodation within my home. Shared meals. Mixed diet. No children. No smoking on property. Initial stay is 1 week, longer stays negotiable depending on time of year. You can get here by public transport - take a train to Frankston, then the 788 bus (Bay H) to Dromana where I will pick you up.

Hi Guys thanks for dropping by and checking out our profile. We are a family of 4 with two young girls Harper is 6 and Ivy is 3 and we train horses from our property in the beautiful Hawkesbury region at the base of the Blue Mountains just an hour and a bit from Sydney. We are situated 15 minutes to the picturesque towns of Richmond and Windsor which both have train stations with trains running every 30 minutes that run to the city and Bondi Beach. You will have your own modern self contained cabin with TV, kitchen, ensuite bathroom and barbecue facilities as well as all food supplied. You are able to cook your own meals as well as share meals with us so vegetarians and people with special diets are welcome. The work involves caring for horses, gardening, ride-on mowing, fencing and general farm work. You do not need to have experience with horses to enjoy your time here just a great attitude and an interest in learning how to care for horses or work on a farm as are those who like to work and enjoy the outdoors. There are lots of different jobs that you can do, the main thing is you will need a good attitude and a sense of humour as well as a willingness to learn, and get involved. For the right people the work is fun and varied with plenty of time to relax. We are happy to to pick you up and drop you off at the train station. There are mountain bikes that you are welcome to use if you want to explore the area or make your own way into town or the local shops. Kurrajong Village is only a short ride away and has great cafes and amazing pizza. There are also miles of trials backing onto the farm perfect for walking and mountain biking with plenty of native wildlife such as wallabies and wombats to see.
