It seems like a better way of working while travelling than the standard way of finding work, having that monetary relationship, worrying about where to live, trying to negotiate wages and all the other humdrum stuff. It sounds like the hosts are willing to share their knowledge, know how and experiences and be friendly at the same time. A very welcome change.

Volunteering is varied and includes: gardening, mowing, wood collection, tree pruning, building, fencing, track construction and General farm maintenance. Accommodation for 2 in a separate, self contained flat near our house. Most shared meals, also self-catering available, food provided. Mixed diet, meat sometimes included. Rozelle Ridge is a 5.5 acre private horse property located 35km north of Sydney in a beautiful, leafy, rural area. Grace is a show jump rider with two horses in competition. We have a total of six horses. Depending on your experience & skills with horses you can help ride & warm them up. Most of your volunteering will be with the horses - feeding, watering, keeping paddocks, stables & tack areas clean - and there is also general farm maintenance such as fencing, ride-on mowing & brush-cutting. Accommodation for the groom is in a large, spacious room with double-bed & small kitchenette for making tea & coffee. You will have access to WiFi and Foxtel TV. We invite you to share our evening meal & provide food to prepare your own breakfast & lunch. Mixed diet. No children. No smoking on property. Initial stays 2 weeks up to 4 weeks. We require applicants to have some level of horse experience for safety reasons as most of the work requires interaction with our horses. Please let us know what level of horse experience you have when applying.

We have done a bit of travelling ourselves and one of the best parts about that is meeting new people and sharing stories and experiences. We hope to hear more interesting life stories and share our own experiences. And of course, we are keen to learn some new skills, particularly how to grow vegetables and care for the natural environment, care for different animals and pick up some general maintenance skills.

City/Town: Lockwood South
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Caravan, Tent, BYO Accommodation
We have a stunning 30 acre farm 15 minutes outside of Bendigo. We are new to farming life and are keen to share our beginning learnings with others. We are starting from a clean slate with no preconceived ideas about how things must be done. At present we are regenerating native vegetation along the creek, beginning pasture rotation for horses and raising lambs. Next will be to get the property fire safe for summer. Our future plans include starting a Children’s Farm including goats, donkeys, chickens, pigs and guinea pigs. We intend to develop an orchard, vegetable garden and a small crop area where we can grow our own hay. Accommodation is in our very comfortable and clean home. We currently have one bedroom available with bunk beds and will soon have an aditional two rooms available, also with bunks. The bathroom is shared with our 14 year old son who is very respectful. You are welcome to bring your own van or tent if you would prefer, there is plenty of space. If we are booked for your preferred dates and you have your own accomodation you can bring, please get in touch as there is plenty of room for camping and caravan parking. It would be wonderful to meet new people and have helping hands while we care for our little piece of paradise.

We are a recently retired couple living on 2.5acres in Langwarrin - approx 42km S.E. from Melbourne CBD.  Close to the beaches and tourist attractions of Frankston, Mornington Peninsula and the gateway to Gippsland. Volunteering will involve considerable manual labour during Summer - digging trenches, emptying the dam to remove invasive weeds and splitting wood.  Other tasks will involve seasonal garden and maintenance work; vegetable garden (for home use), native planting, mulching, pruning, fencing etc. We have just taken up bee keeping which is very rewarding.  Swimming pool available. No smoking in or near buildings.  Solo travellers are encouraged to bring a friend. During extremely hot weather we start work early in the morning and so there is a lot of free time once work chores are completed. Like us, WWOOFers need to be double vaccinated.  Thank you. To be active physically and mentally while learning the skills and theory of permaculture, biodynamic farming, sustainable living and producing oneself with the land around them. I hope to find inspiration and shared values around alternative, kind and meaningful living practices while also gaining perspective on where I want to be in the world. I would love to work with animals where possible. I want to get out of my student head and learn through my hands and through physical observations rather then papers in my room. I want to meet people who know how to do really cool stuff with the environment with know-how and awe.

City/Town: Conondale
Farming Methods: Biodynamic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, BYO Accommodation
We have a beautiful property in Conondale, near Maleny which is in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Queensland. 154 acres, mostly native bush but with about 20-30acres of cleared land, and we even have our own rain forrest and deer! We have recently moved here and have lots of plans! But the first thing is to get the fences sorted, and the weeds in the paddocks and the native bush. We are interested in regenerative farming methods, and are looking forward to putting these practices in place to improve the soil and native bush around us. We have a fabulous pool, tennis court and with three dams, one which you can kayak in, there is lots to do on your down time. There is a bus at our gate that will take you into Maleny which is about a 20 minute drive. We've had WWOOFers for the last 2 years out at Roma (in the South QLD outback) and would love to host more here, in this completely different environment as we learn together!

My work and studies shed an insight into why I want to start WWOOFing. I am passionate about sustainable resource management and agriculture but have spent most of my career at a desk.
I am itching to get outdoors and gain some practical skills and experience on the land. I grew up in the Hunter Valley and have fond memories of riding quad bikes, milking cows, and collecting eggs on friends' farms. I've had a bit of experience in tree planting, floral data collection and habitat assessments through my degree.
