Large backyard garden. I have fruit trees, vegie beds, bee hive and chooks. My house is in walking distance to shopping centre, bus, leisure centre and library. I have some internet access, and bedroom has shower and basin attached. I volunteer in the Grovedale Community Garden (it has a Facebook page); in the Grovedale Community Orchard (also has a Facebook page); and buy and help with the Grovedale Veggie Box which supplies me with fresh, organic vegetables (also Facebook page). From all these places I learn more about how to sustainably garden and look after my chickens.

We are on 10 acres situated on a small rise which gives us a lovely view from our site. We are in the process of completing a new chook run and a verandah for the house. We have a small female Jack Russell dog whom we love very much. We have wonderful neighbours and we are situated near a town called Castlemaine which has alot of cultural activities. We are slowly working on the garden and would like to have your assistance there. Please bring sturdy strong shoes. At the moment in the Summer it is very dry and there are lots of jobs to do tidying up and getting garden beds ready for the Autumn and Spring.

I joined WWOOF because of the whole idea of learning and helping and working with others. I'm also always excited about new experiences and learning new skills. It's also a great opportunity to do so by helping out, sharing, and meet new people. It would be an amazing way to experience Australia differently as a last experience there before moving back to Europe. Working with very produce-focused restaurants around the world these past few years, a more hands on experience, learning about general farming and organic practices makes a lot of sense.

City/Town: Pomonal
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type:
We live on 280 acres, with 1 of 2 sons & small dog, nestled under the highest peaks of the Grampians National Park, 20 kms south of Halls Gap. We operate the Grampians Paradise Camping & Caravan Parkland, a beautiful, small camping ground with shady trees, gardens, small lake & wetlands. Native birds, animals & frogs abound. Bright starry skies. Work with us on environmental projects, fencing, gardening, maintenance, personal vegie garden and fruit orchard, firewood collection, ground works, jobs about the camping ground, occasional building projects (Aidan is very into Traditonal Timber Framing and nearly always has a project on the go). Caravan accom for 1-2 people with own cooking facilities and the use of the camp kitchen and amenities in the camping ground. Require own bedding. Campground amenities building has bathrooms and  laundry. No children. Some independent cooking and possibly some shared meals with family. Prefer No Smoking, and No Smoking Indoors under any circumstance. Can pick up from public transport at Pomonal (bus  Tues, Fri and Sun), Ararat, Stawell or Halls Gap (V Line Services - train and bus). See photos on our website. PLEASE NOTE: we have chemically sensitive family members, so will ask that no perfumes/fragranced products or scented washing powders, deodorants or shampoos are used before coming into our home. We are happy to provide unscented laundry powder, shampoo & soap as well as any advice.  Please note that some essential oils are okay, but please speak with us before using them. Having transport is a huge advantage in this location as there is no immediate public transport, and many of the bushwalks in the Grampians require a trip in the car to access start points. Having said that the new Grampians Peaks Trail, a 13 day trek through the Grampians will be passing within walking distance of our property, so at some time in the future there will be great access to this incredible walk - we will upate this note once they open the Redman Bluff section of the Peaks Trail.

City/Town: Buffalo
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Separate Building, BYO Accommodation
All Foods Farm is situated in Buffalo, South Gippsland , Victoria. The farm has been operating since 2004 and is run on sustainable agriculture and permaculture principles, with emphasis on organically grown, fresh produce. As sustainable property we grow a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, mostly as older styles and heritage varieties. With a mixed orchard of apples, pears, stone fruits and berries we supply our customers with fresh, seasonal produce that they rarely get to experience when shopping at any large scale supermarket. In the picking season for fruit we attend local Farmers markets. Our current project is establishing our shop frontage directly from the property.  We are a bit more than a hobby farm, but not quite  a commercial farm.

Skills I Want to Learn:
We joined wwoofing because it's the one oft he best way to combine traveling with working. Furthermore I like the way of giving and taking from each other in the wwoofing experience. We wwoofed for a while in New Zealand and we had very good experiences. Also it is beautiful to learn more about the life of the native people and to learn more about the culture. Even if we love to be on the road it's nice to have from time to time a little home and to be a part of a family/ community. Another reason why we joined wwoofing is that you can learn from other people how they life or doing their garden. We love to work with or in the nature and to do active work. To learn is an mind opener and we really like to be more keen on in the self-supporter lifestyle.
