    Short Property Description

We own a 4.6 acre organic property, 5 minutes drive from Yass and 45 minutes from Canberra. We have set up vegetable and cut flower gardens, fruit and berry orchards and Aylwen sells preserves, flowers and dried herbs at local farmers markets in Yass, Murrumbateman, Hall and Canberra. In the cooler months we are planting seedlings, cooking up fruit & vegetables and Aylwen is sewing hats to sell at markets. There’s always something for everyone to do and outings to go on. There is a bus stop nearby if travelling to Canberra and trains for travel further afield. We drive in to Canberra often and happy to give you a lift.

Chores vary seasonally: planting, picking flowers, weeding, feeding/watering poultry & sheep, mowing, composting, mulching.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

We are spending a lot of time weeding, mulching and mowing. Most of the gardens are no-till and crops are grown in the open. We put poultry and sheep manure on the compost heaps that we then use in the garden and to make our own potting mix.
