Short Property Description
Our four acre farm is about 5 minutes outside Yass, NSW; that is three hours south of Sydney, 55 minutes from Goulburn and 45 minutes away from Canberra.
We are a developing ‘whole’ flower farm – growing, cooking, bunching, drying and crafting with flowers of all kinds. We have performed substantial planting and soil regeneration operations over the last three years and are currently nurturing our plants and soil with animal and liquid plant fertilisers produced on our farm. We follow organic and sustainable practices to continually improve our soil.
We look forward to our WWOOFers being able to enjoy our farm, learn about flower farming, Australian lifestyle, culture and farm life, sustainable practices, while providing assistance with its development. There are plenty of kangaroos and wallabies outside the farm, and we have two Maremma sheepdogs, two cats, Babydoll sheep, and assorted breeds of poultry.
We certainly work very hard on our farm and there is something to do all day every day. During your farming experience, you’d be looking at doing some hours of farm-work throughout the day, and have free time to relax (in winter we mostly relax in the evenings, in summer we relax after lunch if it’s hot, then continue). We work around the weather, so on some days to avoid the heat, we may get started by 6am, and when possible, work till sunset. If it rains, there are other indoor tasks to complete. We invite you to enjoy homecooked meals with us, have a laugh, and socialise with our family and friends.
We hope to meet enthusiastic, responsible and mature WWOOFers, who love nature and enjoy country surroundings, who are keen to learn and help out, and are appreciative and respectful, just like we are.
Yass Valley is known for its wineries – for anyone travelling with a car, there are wineries about 15 minutes from our farm.
Send us a message with any questions, and an idea of how long you’d like to stay – we look forward to hearing from you!
Organic/Biological methods we use
We are spending a lot of time weeding, mulching, mowing, raising seedlings and cutting flowers. Most of the gardens are no-till and crops are grown in the open. We put poultry and sheep manure on the compost heaps that we then use in the garden and to make our own potting mix.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We would love help getting our project off the ground. Happy to share our knowledge of plant propagation and cultivation and the harvesting of plants for food, fibre, and craft. We are also musicians, hat makers, and teach historic dance.
