“Our 2 weeks stay with Paula, Sean and the kids were fabulous. We helped in the garden, did some pruning, got to drive around their ATV while doing our jobs. And in return we were fed fabulously healthy meals, some homemade beer and fabulous wine. For us it truly was a wonderful exchange. In addition, Paula gave me some private lessons on how to make her famous Jeramiah’s Crust sourdough from scratch. That is right, this family runs a bakery out of their property! It’s some of the best bread I’ve ever tasted. All the bread is organic, and Paula and Sean have even gone to great efforts to make the bags they sell the bread in compostable. I left there with a starter and all the information I need to tackle sourdough on my own at home. We are so grateful to have met you both and I hope we get to see you again some time.” By WWOOFer Jessica McK
“I could write pages about the virtues of WWOOFing and the immense rewards for our family, but what I won’t ever do is over glamorise it. It is not a holiday. And you will not be pampered. You are unlikely to be afforded the luxury of sleeping in until mid-morning, and I would be surprised if anyone brings you breakfast in bed or serves you happy hour cocktails. But volunteering surpasses many other therapies in its ability to improve mental health”- Read Tamara’s Journey to date: Article Written for Earth Garden March/ April Issue 2021 WWOOFing with Teenagers.
Why not go WWOOFing as a family?
