We joined WWOOF because our ambition is to learn more about farming and hopefully embrace it as a part of our future lifestyles. Marilene is from a family which has a long history of farming in the Greek islands and Emily has spent a majority of her childhood and youth exploring the many national parks of the US. Exploring nature and sustainable living are close to our hearts and we see them as crucial parts of ensuring a safe future for our planet.

I came across WWOOFing opportunities many years ago while travelling, and always thought I would enjoy working on an organic farm one day. I believe I am a country girl at heart. My interest in health, wellness and gardening drew me to sign up for WWOOFing, and am particularly interested in working on a flower farm where I would have the opportunity to build my knowledge about growing flowers using organic methods. And I would also love to learn skills about growing organic fruit and vegetables, composting and creating a thriving garden!

Lived in SE Asia for 25 years. Feel some affinity to Buddhism. Main occupations during that time abroad English teacher and 2nd hand motorcycle importer from Japan. So have travelled Japan as well and a year lived in England for around a year including travelling the continent also often staying with WWOOFers. Fitness oriented which means I can sleep interrupted being a necessity to my underlying health issues being. Who of thought of that? Waking up from your own snoring. Darwin?! Great sense of humour. An am NDIS registered provider which involves Nation Police Check without social work training in that area. So don't like to talk about complicated health issues too much. Love cars motorcycles, mechanical things and technology I am good with mechanical and handyman work and am Class engine Re-conditioner from REPCO apprenticeship several decades ago. Before leaving for Asia worked in sales and marketing which I do so on a part time basis in Australia since returning 10 years ago.

I am keen to learn and live in different circles, with different behaviours and changed focus on sustainability, respect, coexistence and nature. it's time to expand the horizon and see and learn new options and methods of living, working, thinking and farming and get to know this vast continent from a different perspective, recognizing and experiencing the alternative possibilities to neoconservative profiteering and redneck ignorance that have been so prominent politically and seemed so pervasive personally in this country over the last decade. Time for a new view.

I'm not a typical WWOOFer. I'm looking for something on-going but 1-day a week (maybe a Wednesday?). I want some time away from my desk job, outside and using my hands. I dream of having my own patch with chickens and veggies and trees, but that's a little while away for me. Until then, I'd like to spend time on someone else's patch. Can I help out on your farm in exchange for some eggs and veg?

We hope to find inspiration for our 20 acre block, and use this time to create memories for our family that we will never forget. We are on a bit of a road trip to break up the routine that many people find themselves entrenched in and WWOOFing may help extend the trip whilst giving us new purpose and motivation as a family.

I've always grown vegetables at home and have done plenty of volunteering at an indigenous nursery and weeding and replanting bush rehabilitation. sites. I'm hoping to move away from the suburbs and develop a bigger productive garden. I'd like to learn more about organic and permaculture fruit and vegetable growing. I'm also interested in mushroom production and regenerative farming practices.

I'm looking to spend the next year travelling and working. I have a passion for gardening and sustainable practices. That's why I chose to join WWOOF. I have met people before growing up who were backpacking around Australia and always spoke fondly of their experiences. I want to work for farms who I know are following organic practices. Hoping to meet some new people and have fun working together.

Joining WWOOF on my working holiday visa to hopefully have a landing spot where I can contribute for a few months while figuring out more long term circumstances (getting an Australian Tax Number followed by finding paid Bushfire restoration work, then finding housing) so that I can support my stay and qualify for a second working holiday visa.

A great way to learn and give back while travelling around Australia plus we love it! I hope to better my knowledge of plants, and learn how to grow fresh produce, and for Caleb spending his day on a farm or in a garden is his absolute dream.

I grew up on a farm in BC, Canada and would like my son to get some farming experience. We live in capital cities and spend as much time as possible hiking and trekking but have not had the opportunity to get some farm life and work experience. My son is passionate about animals and is super helpful when given clear directions. I know how well one sleeps after a long day of physical work outdoors and want my son to experience this. I what him to step back from a meaningful job and know "I helped make that happen". He has chores at home but they are limited in scope as we live in a condo in the city. I think this will be an exciting and rewarding way to explore the people and places of Australia.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
