WWOOF Australia has lost a very dear friend. Dennis Shearing passed away last week at the age of 74, and will be missed by so many WWOOFers and fellow Hosts.

Dennis had been a WWOOF Host for over 20 years and touched the lives of everyone that crossed his path. Dennis was a teacher of life, here in the WWOOF Office we heard stories over the years from WWOOFers that had the opportunity to spend time with Dennis on his property, some were repetitive WWOOFers and always came back to visit Dennis over the years.

Dennis had friends all over the world, regularly visited his ex-woofers in Europe, and was a stalwart member of several Kangaroo Island ecological/regeneration groups, his friendship and quirky sense of humour will be sadly missed by so many.

Dennis’ ashes will be scattered at the salt lake opposite his property at Flour Cask Bay on Wed morning 20th March  followed by a memorial service at the American River Sports Club.

You will be sadly missed Dennis, thank you for everything you have taught us, your memory will live on and through us daily and forever!

From us all in the WWOOF World
