We are a small family-run lavender farm in the beautiful Hunter Valley, New South Wales, just one hour from Newcastle and three hours from Sydney by train. We grow different varieties lavender plants for essential oil distillation, dried flowers, culinary products and handcrafted skincare.
We’re passionate about sustainable farming and caring for the land – and have been Highly Commended for our agricultural practices. Over the past six years, we’ve been regenerating our heavy clay soils using organic and regenerative practices, improving soil health, biodiversity and water retention. We’re always happy to share what we’ve learnt with WWOOFers. Our farm is also home to boutique farm-stay accommodation, we run training workshops over some weekends, and have a friendly dog & cat, making every day varied and rewarding. Whether we’re harvesting lavender, weeding, distilling essential oil, preparing products, maintaining the gardens or tackling seasonal projects, there’s always something happening. We’re also planning on setting up a chicken coop, and building some vegetable garden beds.
Staying with us is an opportunity to experience authentic Australian farm life, learn practical skills, enjoy home-cooked meals, and become part of our daily routine. We love welcoming people from around the world who are enthusiastic, respectful and keen to contribute while experiencing life in rural Australia.
It is great to share our beautiful farm and our passion about lavender and farming with WWOOFers who are keen to learn farming skills, practice English skills (English as a second language teacher host), and enjoy an Australian farming experience!
Organic/Biological methods we use
We use regenerative soil methods by adding hay, mushroom compost, manure etc. to improve the soil consistency. We hand weed (and steam weed) to avoid the use of chemicals).
