‘Yin Barun’ is located in the foothills of the high country 2 hours from Melbourne on the beautiful Broken River. It is a mixed farm with cherries, wine grapes, Lucerne, pumpkins, veg, pasture fed sheep & cattle as well as wild foraged culinary mushrooms.
Volunteering is very diverse including wild mushroom identification; foraging, picking, packing, selling cherries, vineyard maintenance, pruning, harvesting, wine making and Melbourne deliveries. Also veg picking, weeding, propagation, sheep and cattle work, shearing and GFM. Please feel free to ask questions, in 2024 I was lucky enough to win the Australian Farmer of the year for diversity and sustainability so happy to share my knowledge and experiences.
You can tour around the area with the farm being in close proximity to the Mountains. Accommodation for 3 in our home. Shared meals. Mixed diet, vegetarians & vegans catered for. No children. No smoking inside. Initial stay 2-4 weeks, longer stays negotiable..

Why I became a WWOOF Host

When I was younger i traveled the world and it was the people that took me in and looked after me that made the experience. They showed me a true local experience and this is why I joined WWOOF to become a host just like those that i met during my travels.
