Jane Korman & family
I am an artist and live in a large suburban home on the corner of a main road.
There are 4 people living here at the moment (2 tenants, my adult son and myself).
I work as a freelance artist with ongoing deadlines, and also spend every evening with my 101 year old mother (who lives across the road in an Aged Care facility). With all this, I am very time-poor, and most meals are seperate due to my unconventional hours.
But I am very happy for you to cook or join me when I’m having a meal 🙂
You need to be able to work unsupervised and have an open mind, and be prepared for a different experience as it is not the typical wwoofing framework.
Volunteering includes help with vegetable garden (weeding, composting, planting, mulching, watering plants) and general gardening, odd jobs around the house and help with various art projects. Also, on nice days I would appreciate if you could sometimes take my mother out into the sunshine).
Accommodation is for 1 or 2 people in guest room or cosy converted garage. Mixed diet.
The work hours = 4 hours a day (with flexibility), with one or two days off a week.
After working you are very welcome to spend time exploring the city which is a half an hour train ride. There is a local pool, cafés and shopping centres nearby.
Life in our household is calm and relaxed and suits those who enjoy peace and quiet.
10 minute walk to train station and 25 min train ride to city.
Cannot take WWOOFers from May – October.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
I enjoy having travellers stay with me who are open to meeting local families and helping out in different supportive ways. I also appreciate any help I get because I run the whole house/garden mostly on my own and I try to keep it as sustainable and organic as I can. (My home is an old one and not that sustainable, energy wise – but I try!). I appreciate help around the house so that I have more time to do my artwork as I always feel time-poor.
Organic/Biological methods we use
We don’t have a farm, just a big vegetable garden which we maintain organically.
