Dear Richard and Aisha, My one-month stay has passed by so quickly. Working under the sun—mowing the grass, harvesting broad beans, and caring for the wine grapes—were all moments I truly loved. I also learned so much from you about soil building, crochet, and playing the banjo. Every day felt stimulating and full of joy. After working outside, I always looked forward to the delicious meals you cooked and the homemade wine we shared. Thank you for the irreplaceable time together. I’m already looking forward to seeing you both again. RYOKO

I had a really lovely time staying with Richard and Ayesha. Their house is always warm and welcoming, and they live on a beautiful property which is being revegetated with native trees and grasses. It was always nice to watch the birds in the river red gums in the afternoon. Ayesha is an incredible cook, and I learnt a lot about soils and bush regeneration from Richard. They also have incredible collections of books and banjos, both of which were a lot of fun to explore. I really enjoyed the work, and it was a lovely place to stay. Thank you!

Thanks Callum, it was great having you here. We keep saying, 'if Callum was still here then we could……' Cotoneaster update: thanks for cutting them down, I have made 51 planting sticks to use in a performance on 21st Sept at WAMA. I had an excavator dig out all of their roots and the area is ready for redesign and planting.

Pretty well the best first wwoofing experience imaginable. Im sure I learnt enough in the first day to supercede my soils unit at tafe, and Richard was a pleasure to work with, considerate and passionate enough to show me anything that needed doing if i hadnt tried it. Ayesha is straight from the heart, and i will remember her rare well balanced attitude and miss it. Should we have time again id try to do less of the interesting work.. mind you land management is admirable here and there were a range of tasks. Thankyou both.

I stayed here for about 20 days and had such a wonderful experience. As a beginner in both English and farm work, I was warmly welcomed and kindly taught everything I needed to know. Thanks to their support, I was able to learn a lot and enjoy my time here. They also gave me the chance to try vegetables and meats I had never eaten before, and even prepared handmade desserts — everything was taken care of so thoughtfully. I’m truly grateful for the kindness and hospitality I received.

Thanks Honoka, you were a great worker. The beans and onions you sowed are emerging, the pine poles you helped remove from the vines are now repurposed in a fence. You will be remembered. All the best, Richard and Ayesha.

We had such a lovely time at Twangadiddlydoo! Richard and Ayesha were incredibly warm and hospitable, and made sure we were really, really well fed — the food was incredible! Every meal was a treat. The accommodation was also lovely — I just wish I had more time to delve into the amazing range of books Ayesha had. Work on the farm was interesting and varied, and we learnt so much about planting and caring for different species, including a wide array of indigenous plants. A huge thank you to Richard and Ayesha for the amazing experience!

We enjoyed your visit greatly. Having a Mah Jong foursome was a bonus. Thanks for all your help. The vine support poles that you skillfully jacked out of the ground have a new home now as fence posts for the chess garden. We are glad too that you appreciated our culinary efforts as it makes a shared meal much more enjoyable. We wish you well on your travels and you know you would be welcome back here any time. Cheers!

I had planned to stay at Twangadiddlydoo for 2 weeks first but ended up staying there for 6 months. It was too comfortable to leave… I remember that I felt at home immediately after arriving their home. I really enjoyed helping there. The food was amazing. Richard and Ayesha, thank you very much for letting me stay for so long, taking me to many events and places, teaching me how to play banjo, and treating me as one of your family.

I'm so grateful for my time here with two always cheerful and welcoming hosts. The lovely house, delicious homemade meals, great music, and the wonderful friends I met along the way made this experience truly special. I stayed for about two weeks, and every day was filled with meaningful moments, whether it was sharing meals together, learning new things, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. I also really appreciate how you adjusted our conversations to match my English level—it made me feel comfortable and helped me gain more confidence in speaking. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and all the unforgettable memories. I feel so lucky to have been part of this experience, and I’d love to visit again someday!

This was my first WWOOF experience. Richard and Ayesha were wonderful hosts. My main tasks included mulching, weeding, and watering the garden. They shared their lovely room with me and we enjoyed delicious meals, great conversations, fun gardening work, peaceful music, and playing mahjong together. I'm so happy I could spend Christmas with their family. The banjo recital was really fun too! It was an amazing experience. They were such warm hosts that I wish I could stay longer and would love to come back. Thank you!

Richard and Ayesha are wonderful hosts. I spent 10 days here, helping with wine bottling, reforestation, and planting. Richard always taught me the tasks with great care. All the work was very enjoyable. He also taught me how to play chess. Everything Richard and Ayesha cooked, including the desserts, was absolutely delicious. They shared many wonderful stories, including their travel experiences. The days spent with them in their lovely home, listening to pleasant music, were truly wonderful. Thank you very much. I hope to visit again.

I loved my stay at Twangadiddlydoo. Richard and Ayesha are delightful hosts and great company; my stay was enriched with their stories and sharing of knowledge. During the day we cleared out frost affected veggie beds, collected firewood and planted native trees and grasses as part of the ecological restoration of the property. I was also fortunate to be able to attend a Soil Science Australia field day on a local farm, which Richard had prepared and hosted. Ayesha is a marvellous cook, so meals are delicious, all the more so given the nutrient rich produce from the garden. And it was a great joy to spend an evening listening to Richard playing on the banjo, the fiddle or harmonica; there is something enchanting about hearing these instruments live. Thank you Richard and Ayesha for a wonderful stay, your warm welcome and hospitality, company and conversation.

Such a wonderful experience WWOOFing with Richard and Ayesha. They are welcoming, sharing their home, banjos, and their delicious cooking with food fresh from the garden. Work was helping clear and tidy the garden, grape picking and helping to make wine. Lots of live music on while I was there so a nice chance to get out to see the neighbouring communities. Such a beautiful property and lovely hosts.

Great experience as a first time wwoofer. Richard and Ayesha were very welcoming, shared delicious food, and offered many things to do in the area in the non-working hours. The accommodation space was clean and peaceful. If you like birds, this is a great spot! So many bird calls all day. Work was mostly just weeding and gardening as there wasn't any vineyard activities yet, not too strenuous.
