Grant has a range of experience growing food and managing farms, having started in horticulture 43 years ago, then creating a landscaping business in Sydney for 8 years. He completed a Permaculture Design Certificate 35 years ago and upgraded the landscaping business to an edible landscape business shortly after. He then opened 3 nurseries in Sydney selling organic herbs, vegetables and ferns. He worked in the Findhorn Community in Scotland for 3 years looking after a nursey section, market garden and a large tunnel house growing summer crops. Directly after that he managed a 1 ½ acre market garden supplying vegetables to The Columbus Hotel on the Isle of Iona.
Grant has been working with internationally renowned permaculturist, Geoff Lawton on a regular basis making permaculture videos for over 6 years.
As a family we have been hosting Willing Workers on Organic Farms for over 18 years. We are looking for an energetic person with a strong work ethic with a physical working background and general gardening experience is preferred. This experience would suit someone who wants to learn how to manage land and grow their own food organically or is interested in becoming a permaculture teacher, designer, landscape gardener, nursery manager or market gardener.
