Black Eagle Farm is a small farming enterprise based on a mix of regenerative, conservation and organic farming principles. It is on beautifull Dja Dja Wurrung country, whose lands were never ceded, located on the northern foothills of the Great Dividing Range in the rolling hills and landscapes of Sutton Grange and Sedgwick with the backdrop of Mt Alexander which is the headwaters of the Axe Creek. The house and guest cottage overlook rolling paddocks and hills with the Axe Creek meandering through the valley.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We have been travellers across many parts of this land and the world and the opportuntiy to share the beauty of this special part of Central Victoria is important in giving to others who vlaue nature and to participate in the many activites happening on the farm. It is a great way to meet people and the chance to connect and stay in an area and get to know this part of the world.
There is a separate farm cottage next to the main mudbrick house. It is an open living space for a single person or couple wanting to escape to the tranquillity and peace of a small working farm.
Nestled in the Axe Creek valley with views across the Sedgwick hills and to Mt Alexander, the cottage has a queen size bed, separate bathroom combined laundry, self-contained kitchen and living space with a wood stove and solar hot water. It is more suited to a couple or a single person. There is no additional space or bedding for children due to its size.

Organic/Biological methods we use
The farm uses a mix of regenerative and organic techniques with rotational grazing. organic fertilising and the combination of introduced and native grassess for grazing. While grazing occurs in the lower flats and cleared areas of the property, there has been significant replanting of the local indigenous vegetation over the past 38 years with fencing off and protecting of remnant vegetation, especially to control soil erosion and salinity.
This is also ovelaid with a conservation farming approach that protects and
