My partner and I spent a month volunteering at FNQ Blooms through WWOOF, and honestly – it was one of the highlights of our entire trip.
The work was super diverse, hands-on, and genuinely interesting. Every day we learned something new about farming – from soil to flowers to animals and beyond. It never felt boring or repetitive.
The accommodation? Probably the most comfortable and peaceful we’ve had anywhere. Private, quiet, surrounded by nature, with stunning views and animals wandering around like you're living in a nature documentary.
But the heart of this experience was Jodie and Sak – the incredible couple who run the farm. They became our Aussie family. Warm, generous, hilarious, and full of knowledge and love for what they do. The connection we built with them and the place was truly special – something we’ll carry with us forever.
If you're looking for a meaningful, beautiful, and unforgettable WWOOFing experience – this is it. You won’t want to leave. 💛
If anyone is new to WWOOF, I highly recommend this farm. Right next to us is a jungle, just like you see in the game, and a beautiful river. Everything here is fresh and fun. I feel so lucky that my first time English life stay with Jody and Sac. They are my Australian parents. And most of all, their dogs are adorable.
Every day of my life here was full of new discoveries and interesting things. Vanilla, tropical flowers, animals, cooking - everything was a new discovery for me.And above all, JODIE and SACK were very kind and welcomed me like a family member even though I couldn't speak any English. I really love their personalities. The time I spent with you two has become a very precious memory for me. Please let me come and help you again. Thank you so much for all your help over the past three weeks.
It was absolutely amazing! Jodie and Sack were so welcoming, making me feel like part of the family. They introduced me to their friends, and I had the chance to meet some locals my age. I was lucky that their children were there around Christmas time and they showed me around, integrating me into their local teenage life.
I thoroughly enjoyed the work; of course, there were some tasks I didn’t enjoy, but that's part of farm life. I learned a lot about different flowers and vanilla, as I could ask them many questions. Plus, having the dogs around while working was a big bonus.
Their pets, two cats and two dogs, made it feel like heaven. The dogs, in particular, were incredibly friendly and loved going for swims in the creek with me.
Staying with Jodie and Sack was the best decision I made. I had an amazing time and found lifelong friends in Jodie, Sack, Tom, and Luke!
Really enjoyed working with Jody and Michael (Sack). Food was really great and the Downstairs room was spacious, airy and private.
It was beautiful seeing new types of flowers and helping Jody with harvest and markets. Loved the creek, cleanest water you'll ever find! Recommended
